Regretting not joining Tesla right now. I had been offered a position in Tesla 2 years back. However , I didn’t join it as I heard about culture problems.. Today, I regret it every moment looking at Tesla price. The stock went up from 300 to 2500 and still going up. Anyone else like me?

Imo, if you passed out of concerns re culture, you considered something (wellbeing and mental health) that you can’t put enough of a price tag on no matter how high stock goes

Takes a lot to pass up Tesla. What type of Project Manager are you?

like

I suggest not dwelling on it. You can’t change it and you’ll just make yourself sick. I have at least one such missed opportunity. Eyes front, onward.

like

If Tesla went down the drain you would be writing something very different. You can't blame yourself for not predicting the future.

like

Designer 1 is right - don't dwell on the past.

If it makes you feel better, my friends there have horror stories. And if you’re in tech long enough, then you will accumulate offers from startups that you passed up that quickly went mega IPO, or got bought, etc.etc.

I hope one comes along for you with the stock potential of Tesla and without the work stress.

Left big four as a first year manager for a controller role with a smaller audit client. When I left I had no idea what my long term goal was or where I wanted to end up. Half a year into the new gig and realize it’s not what I want to do. I don’t think I realized the pros of a manager role for a large company at the time, or even a service line change within big four. My daily tasks are repetitive and not challenging and there’s more small stuff to deal with. What should my next move be?

My background is 3.5 years strategy consulting at T2 -> 1 year Associate boutique IB startup (current).

Should I lateral to MM/BB IB and then make transition to PE after 1 year? Or should I try to go for PE roles now (at analyst level) since it will be hard to compete with MM/BB IBs for associate role?

I'm not in sales per se but I manage my company's largest wholesale account ($150 million per/yr account). It's a great company, awesome culture, good benefits, flexibility, but the pay is not great ($60K/yr). All the pros outweighed the mediocre pay, but now with inflation rising, my paycheck isn't going as far and I'm having a really hard time trying to figure out if I should start looking elsewhere or if I should ask my boss for a raise.

I was recruited and also applied to two jobs. I had two of the interviews this week and one that is tomorrow. I feel confident I will be offered the job by two companies. Would you take the best paying job, which is Blackstone as an Associate, and move 3 hours away with kids or stay put and make less with a Director title? The 3rd company likely won't pay what my minimum salary is.
