Hello, I have received an offer from Southwest Airlines as a Associate Technology Analyst with their direct college hire program. Will be graduating in May with a degree in MIS and also have internships experience as a Business Systems analyst intern. The salary compensation started off at 66,500 but was looking for the 75k range and they got back to me saying the best they can do is 68,500. They also have a 401k company match up to 9.3%. Do you think this is a solid offer for this job market?

Holy crap are you staying at a JW or something? That’s pretty high even for Manhattan.
P1 - don’t we have to book through Concur? The rate (with code) isn’t always the same as what’s on Concur.
still on the high end even for manhattan, especially if you are using a corp code
Lol crazy. If you were on my project I’ll bench you.
You’re a joke. I’d that’s the going rate, so be it. You’re not paying it. 15% of total fees is the general contracted price of expenses
That’s on the low end for sure. I’ve stayed at the st Regis when it’s at $700 a night and nobody bats an eye. You start getting into trouble at the 1000/ night rate
The damage is done.
Team was billing $400-$600/night near Tribeca for an 8 week project - pretty normal. 🤷🏻♂️
sheraton tribeca is like $300/night using ACC corporate code... where were they staying? the james?
Oh lol I pay that all the time in WC cities for business travel
yeah that’s BCG. drop in the bucket when the client is paying $80k a week to have you out there.
Seems appropriate for nyc, approved
There are so many hotel options in Manhattan that rates on average aren’t that much higher than other cities
Normal for Manhattan midtown. Leadership who would bat an eye at that either 1) are woefully misinformed or B) didn’t plan their economics correctly
It’s fine. Had to pay that is Boston suburb this week.
Check w peers or Corp travel. they often have an idea if a rate is compliant
or not.
Book several hotels in the low to med 400s when in NYC. Ask the team where most folks have been staying and if it's a new engagement ask the others where they plan to book
if it's in policy, it's in policy. the end.
Not true - essentially every Marriott property is in policy, I would be so angry at my team if they were staying at the in policy $1k Ritz. That’s a real good way to piss off a client and get fired
Been on a project and Manhattan for 6 months now - that is the normal going rate. Lean on the engagement manager to let you know any budget constraints
