I’m gonna go out on a limb and say that we’re not gonna be required to come back in the office come September with the delta variant picking up speed
Likelihood of the Delta variant pushing back going into the office? Interested in thoughts re: NYC and elsewhere!
Anyone ever use another companies corporate discount code for Marriott? XOM (Exxon) code is showing a significant discount where I'm going.
Chicago 🐡, does anyone use Delta as their main airline? I’ve been building United status, but I flex travel a lot to Delta hubs and Delta planes tend to be a lot nicer... any thoughts?
Please critique my annual budget. Family of four in the Bay Area. HHI: 850k Income tax: 300k Daycare: 50k Housing: 45k (mortgage + property tax + insurance) Grocery / restaurants: 20k Charity: 15k Random Amazon spending: 10k Car + gas + insurance: 10k Medical: 5k House cleaner / landscaper: 5k Utilities: 3k Retirement savings: 135k (maxing out everything) Remaining for taxable savings: 250k Don’t do enough travel but that is largely due to COVID. Saving 45% of gross is probably too much?
For delta if I have status that lets me check in 3 bags and I purchase 2 tickets for me and a family member using points does my family member also get 3 bags aka we can check in 6 bags total?
I’m planning to upgrade 4 iPhones this November. What credit card do you recommend opening and using to purchase these. I’m looking for one that has coverage for electronics.
I just came back last week from a wonderful two week holiday and I feel completely burnt out. I was doing fine before I left but now I just can’t stomach the work and the travel. Will it get better?
We’d like to take our first travel holiday since covid with our son who will be right around 2 yo. Considering asking our babysitter to join so dad and I can actually enjoy ourselves some of the time. We both work very hard and don’t consider time with toddler to be relaxing! But we’re also wondering 1. Is this too bougie? 2. How do we keep costs from spiraling out of control, Eg. 3 bedroom airbnb or two hotel rooms significantly more expensive/or just not as nice if it’s within range. TY!
How much did you spend on living expenses outside of rent (including travel, eating out, other fun things) each year in business school? I’ve saved up ~$80K for both years and wondering if that’s solid for NYC. Don’t need to do everything but wondering what the range might be.
Once Canada reopens for international tourists, it should be possible to stay there for 14 days and traveling by plane to the US right? Coming from a Schengen country (with US work visa) and looking into options to make my way back to the US. The US/Canada border closure only affects land travel as far as I know..?
Hello All, do you think travel consulting will continue at the same pace? Or are companies going to want consultants on site less?
I know someone who got his work&travel permit then traveled internationally (it’s been 5 months) to disconnect mentally (he went through a lot in US alone). Then, he got his green card just 2 weeks ago. Does anyone know if the 6 months period will re-start because he got his GC? Or he has to come back regardless before the 6 months period is finished?
Looking to get into skiing with the fam - any good Marriott/SPG resorts in a 2-6 hour driving radius from NYC?
Don’t really see the purpose of FIRE unless my passive is like $300K+ a year - enough for me to travel around and try new things on daily/weekly/monthly basis. Time with no money can be quite boring
Is it worth trying to get 3,000 more PQMs by December to reach United Platinum next year? Are there any significant benefits for Platinum vs Gold?
Is it normal that my only way to relax is to get work done over the weekend to not feel overwhelmed/behind during the week? The 9-5 mom schedule is killing me.
S&A Analyst at Deloitte salary? 1 YOE. Don’t see a consultant role for my preferred office or I would go for that.
Your client is a hotdog manufacturer facing P&L pressures. They have historically boosted sales by selling packages of 6 hotdogs. Naturally, mathematically savvy consumers have been forced to buy 4 packages to reach the lowest common denominator with 8-packs of buns. They are looking for a revenue growth strategy. Happy Sunday Ladies! It’s been my lifelong goal to learn French, but I’ve been unsuccessful over the years. For those of you that have learned a second language (especially as an adult), what helped you? What materials or tools did you use? Thanks!
Just got an offer as a Data Analytics Solution Consultant (remote) in Deloitte GPS USDC. The base pay is 10K higher, and it is probably good for my resume. However, I was looking to expand my data analytics skills, and they gave an impression that my work will mostly just be fraud detection and boring tasks. Should I reject it if my goal is to expand my skillsets? Also, is the work life balance bad for USDC too? I am seeing all the horror stoires
If a firm gives different bonus amounts for district court (ex: 50k) and circuit court (ex: 75k) clerkships is it common to receive both combined (ex: 125k) when you join? Or is it normal to receive some lesser amount?
Can someone share some insights on this? How hard is it to get promoted at Salesforce vs PwC (typical number of years, objective qualifiers for promotions etc) Sr Tech Arch --> Director at Salesforce? vs Sr Manager --> Director at PwC
I'm a male with pierced ears that's been working at Accenture Interactive these past few years. I've been wearing transparent studs at work (which are less noticeable but still pretty apparent) to prevent my piercing from growing back in at work. I'm lateraling to MBB now where I'm assuming the rates are higher, clients are more senior, and tone a bit more serious. Would it be a career limiting move to keep my piercings?
I want to know when Big4 hire graduate from non-technical background and train them to be on technical roles at Asso and SA levels, I am wondering if the client is okay with it. For example I hv degree in Computer Science / multiple Certs - I worked as Solution Architect for many yrs in industry. I see a lot of Associates (1-2 years out of college with no IT exp) being on implementation projects as BA/PM roles. New to consulting so trying to get perspective and not undermining anyone.
Fellow Fishes - I am seeking referral in Atlassian.. got laid off last week (SM, 15YOE) looking next gig actively. Thank You 🙏🏼

Potential project lined up it I'm not big on local work. SM said transport would be expensed and food I'd pay for but get a per diem. Is he blatantly lying to me?
Hey folks! Does anyone know how we can apply for certifications through Deloitte (planning to give CEH exam) Is there a portal from where I can book the exam? Or do I need to clear the exam and then apply for reimbursement?
Moving client side at a series A funded global tech startup as the Sr Director of Corporate & Brand Marketing role (lead the creative team and everything owned and earned). Report to the CMO. No VPs on the marketing team currently. SF based company. Offered 180. Seems low (and a pay cut from current role). Any thoughts on this? Appreciate the help!
I have 5 years of experience in Client facing roles. I am expecting an offer from KPMG for the Software Engineering Associate role in the LA area. What is the salary I can ask or negotiate for if given an offer?
Hello everyone, I was laid off a few months ago working as a Business Analyst for a well known EHR company. I have been having a pretty rough time getting interviews. For those who wouldn’t mind, may I get some feedback on my resume?
I received an offer from Capgemini in their career portal. There is an option to Accept or Decline the offer. If I accept it, will it be an obligation for me to join?
Currently interviewing at a direct competitor at the pre partner level. Does anyone have experience dealing with non competes after making a move like this? Is it an issue or just hot air?
We all know about EY’s egregious lunch policy that makes no sense. Wanted to hear about other expense policies at other firms! Anyone really like their expense policy? What would you change?
