Last night in the West Village, the NYPD created a situation out of thin air, escalated it, and made arrests. The only people blocking traffic in this video is the NYPD. Hundreds of them. Mostly maskless as they end any goodwill they had in this community

New York’s law also being bad doesn’t make Georgia’s law good. New York is working with voting rights groups to improve its laws and has expanded early voting and instituted ranked-choice voting recently. Georgia is working against voting rights groups.

It’s moot because NY properly staffs their polling locations to make in-person voting easy in minority concentration neighborhoods. The point is nobody should have to wait several hours in line to vote.
NY accepted risk of covid as an excuse for absentee ballots, which is why there was a drive to expand mail in voting for 2020.
And NY allows food and water as long as the value is under $1 and the person handing it out has no identification (so can’t wear T-shirts with the candidate’s name, for example.)
