Remotely for first quarter (but teachers in school) and probably back for hybrid October 13, meaning teachers Teaching 40% in person and 60% virtual SIMULTANEOUSLY. So if you want to face a discussion in class, in person students need to be on zoom with headphones. I worry that the community doesn’t understand that it won’t be business as usual and will not solve many of their complaints from remote learning. All will wear masks and take temps upon arrival daily. Much harder to socially distance high schoolers when compared to elementary.
We are back on Sept 28th for K-8 on an A/B. 9-12 will stay virtual the rest of the semester.
A comes to school Monday and Tuesday
B comes Thursday and Friday
All virtual Wednesday for deep cleaning between A and B groups.
Busses are 1 per seat unless family-they sit together.
There is an aide on with the driver that gets off at each stop ask COVID-19 symptoms questions and takes temperature before they are allowed on the bus.
We are back in school with students full time. I must say it is so much better than being virtual. The students are glad to be back. Class sizes of 14/15.
Everyone is masked. I, for one, much prefer teaching in person!

I know. I’m so sorry that your area is having problems. Unfortunately, we are going to see more and more of this in the upcoming months. Most of the Governors, (most, not all) are trying their best, I think. But with a president who poo-poos the virus and a corrupt team that has “knee-capped” the CDC and are manipulating data, I fear the worst. There’s too much misinformation out there now. Hang on to your panties everyone, we got a wild ride ahead.

I’m back in the classroom for hybrid. I would love to not be in person because I don’t want to risk my health.

Omg same! They totally messed with our numbers to make us go back sooner.
I'm back in the classroom for hybrid. The way my school system is doing this I teach remote and face to face. It is double duty...
For the same pay. Super sucks.
We are fully back on Monday😭
Not were I am at. We are still in online learning for the first semester. They haven't told us if we are going to return to the classroom.
When case rates, positivity, and hospitalizations decrease for 14 consecutive days. Is that really going to happen?

Nope, our numbers haven't gone down yet.
We started with a combo of in person, virtual, and distance via packets. Parents were able to choose what suited them best. We probably have 60-70% of students in person, 25% virtual, and 5% packets.
Whatever was chosen, they had to commit to 9 weeks. If in-person students are quarantined, they go virtual or distant until they are able to return. Several of my virtual and distant learners have told me that they will be returning at the end of the 9 weeks (in October).
Administrators act like virtual and packets are here to stay until parents no longer want them.
In my district, teachers are always the last ones to know the plan.
Ours too!! Teachers were not involved in decision making AT ALL. Ours had to commit to 12, but only if they were fully virtual. F2f can be fluid every 12 weeks. Schedules change daily. Very frustrating
We’re teaching remotely, and we’ve had 2 deaths from COVID in our school community, meaning that it’s still active in the local community. I’m sure as hell not eager to go back to a 600 sq ft space with 29 kids (because there’s no way our district will lower class sizes & hire more teachers).
I’m sorry. Stay safe.
South florida Broward county plans for teachers to come back 10/5.
We will probably be back open in the latter portion of January... the covid hasn't met a typical Michigan winter... watch the numbers go down
January if we stay in the red zone long enough
they are they will reassess in January
Definitely. Hybrid is not the answer! Neither is shutting down once again like other states have had to do after Covid cases on campus. Yo-yo
We are remote until Oct. 30 at least. I can’t see going back F2F fully as,while classes are smaller, they are still averaging 19-20, ( 14-26 bottom and top ends) Cannot social distance with that many.
Our school goes back the 29th,but I am distant learning all year :)
I can actually say the same thing. I teach Science and to keep things simple and limit teacher/student movement when/if they do return, I will continue to do my classes virtually.
We’ve been remote since August 17th. We’re going hybrid Sept. 28th.

We are all virtual right now. I’ve heard stirrings about going back in October, for hybrid learning.
