Reneging on a job offer…thoughts? How do you do it??

Anybody have any insight on working in production in Philadelphia? Any creative shops, production companies or brands putting out great work?

Is there a good resource to benchmark ria salary/benefits? I have about 8+ years of ria experience with about 3 of those as lead advisor. I think I might be underpaid. I have seen some general salary bands but looking for something I can use to help understand where I should be.

Do you look desperate if you apply to several jobs within the same company? I was recently rejected for a job I REALLY wanted at a well known tech company. And after interviewing there and studying up on the company, I just really want to work there. The positions I'm applying for are definitely still within my wheelhouse. But will I just look too desperate to their in-house talent team to be considered?

I need an advice/suggestion here. I got an offer from 2 different organisations and choose one among them (Role: Analyst) because of the culture and benefits. And the other offer has a good pay and good designation (Associate Consultant) rather than the one I choose. Now i feel very low due to this decision that I took. My little brother is in law school and unsure whether to pursue a big law career. He’s ambitious, but wants a meaningful job that is not 24/7.

We have been blessed by financial support from family: By no means super rich, but he will leave LS with "only" 40k in loans, and owns a debt free apartment that pays his 1.5k mnthly mortgage.

He therefore doesn’t feel he "needs" big law money.

I’m in big law bc I’m a degenerate workoholic, while he has a life. Find it difficult to offer him advice.

My lady is a consultant and needs her team to turn the deck by EOD today so her and upper management can work this weekend on it. The young associate said, when is EOD bc technically the day has already ended (at 5pm).

Sad truth …

Is it common for transactional groups to just add specialists onto deals without a heads up, or asking if we have capacity? My team is always asked first, but today, got invited to a dataroom of some deal I have never heard of.

Has anyone billed significantly less than target (like 1500) as a midlevel? What happened at the annual review?

Do junior associates at large firms ever travel to other cities/countries? If so, under what circumstances?

I’m a first year and things are still really slow for me. I have hardly billed in February. I am being told that things will come my way, when appropriate. Should I be concerned? My reviews have been great on assignments and our integration partner said she has no concerns/has heard great things. I’m in transactional. TIA!
