Rent is month to month - thinking about cutting lease and staying at my parents’ house (it’s completely vacant) on the opposite coast. Think remote work will last long enough for this to make sense?

Please don’t travel.

I traveled late this week - honestly was exposed to fewer people than at a grocery store or pharmacy right now and was fastidious about wiping my seat/belongings. Honestly think with the number of stops/nights (aka contact points with others) a drive that long requires you’d be better off flying

I moved home, however my family is in the house 🤪. I didn’t want to be in an apartment/paying rent when I could have more space and save some money. I was also worried about the off-chance both my parents got sick at the same time and wanted to be here for them.

Would have to relocate back here (CA) once things normalize again.

That’s a great idea. Why pay rent when you don’t have to with an uncertain future.

How much of a pain will it be to find a new place / lease after this is over?

I would guess min of 2 months, max of 3. To the earlier poster, depends on the cost to find a new place again.

What city are you in? We are renting our apartment in nyc month to month.

Bay Area.

Yeah. Tbh we won’t be traveling anytime in the near future. At least 3 months to see where this all goes

My thoughts as well. Good to hear others share the same.

I’ve secretly been loving the WFH situation and it’s been great spending more time with my kids and seeing them throughout the day. I’m really not looking forward to going back to the office when we reopen. Anyone else in the same boat? I’m going to be so sad.

Getting a nanny .... my husband and I are looking to hire a nanny for our 7 month old, our 3 y/o goes to pre-school. We've had nannies previously for our 3 y/o but they were both referred by friends. The one we are looking to hire now is our first from Care.com. Does anyone have any advice as to what we should be on the lookout for? My husband and I both work from home, but I can't help my anxiety about not knowing her, the background check was light in information, and I want to make sure he's safe

I (first year) need the crowds view: “Big deal” partner emails 2 partners (me cc’d) asking for a call. Having had trouble with the conference line, I send around a zoom link. The call starts, the 2 partners and I are on zoom. “big deal” partner calls me, yells that zoom link isn’t working, berates me, opens a conference line, tells me off in front of the other partners (I “wasted their time”). Is his behaviour warranted?

This may sound bizarre but in a pinch. I have been jumping through hoops trying to get imaging for a new lump in my chest. Everything is so far booked in my area that it’s impossible to get scans same week even if you call first thing Monday AM. It’s now been two weeks since I discovered it and am still waiting on schedules to get tests done. My insurance covers ER visits 100%…wondering if I just do it? I have a busy life and really just need answers.
