Been with a girl for years. We get along well and enjoy each other's company. We're comfortable around each other, and I've generally been happy with her. As we've begun talking about marriage, I'm really giving some deliberate thought as to whether she's the right life partner for me. I'd pondered it before, but our relationship progressed very organically so never gave it too much serious consideration.

Now that I think of it, cont..

Hi All,

I’m starting a business and need about $50K in upfront costs. I’ll fund half with cash and am looking to take a loan (which by my projections can be paid off in year 1) for the other $25K.

Would you recommend taking the loan through my personal name or through the company, assuming the interest rate for year 1 is 0%? I feel like it will take awhile to get the $25K for the business as the loan receiver pre-revenue… right?

Anyone else seeing this BTC freefall right now?

Anyone working in Insurance Tax (Premium/State/Excise/SUT/etc.)? I’m feeling undervalued and burned out. I have been in my role for 5 years and I’m making 80k. I’m a top performer and on top of my defined role I also train new hires, manage the interns, and serve on several committees. Is this what I should be making as a Specialist? I generally enjoy what I do and the people I work with. Do I need to jump ship?

WLB advice needed, fishes. When my kids (9 and 7) weren't at school, my job was AMAZING with letting me disappear from meetings to dispense snacks and just generally keeping a whacky schedule because I needed to take care of my kids since they were home all the time. With schools back to in person learning my job is understandably tightening up expectations again, even though we are still working from home. My kids don't understand/ like it AT ALL and when they get home from school they just want daddy and feel like I'm ignoring them. What do I do??

Hi there,

I have worked in the adtech industry for the better part of 7 years, I am looking to make a transition into the fintech space and will be presenting a case study to some ream members and not quite sure what to expect. Any generic advice or words of wisdom for someone looking to make a change? 😬

what's your fav tech company to work for outside of faang?

I see different thoughts about online certifications and boot camps if you don’t have experience. Any thoughts? Also what’s the best way to break into tech?

I currently work at a senior level in product management, I have around 4 years of experience in the field. I'm severely underpaid and feel quite undervalued by the company. I've also been supporting my wife who's been doing her Masters for the past 2.5 years, and being in NYC my savings are absolutely minimal. My PERM is processing so I can't even make a move for another 6-8 months and I'm scared of doing so in light of thr current job market. I'm struggling to deal with my situation. Help?

Hi 👋 I’m a Bank Manager with 12+ years of banking experience looking to transition in fintech sales. I don’t have software exp but banking sales and business development exp. Does anyone have advice for what a timed 15min on the spot Excel test may look like or what may be key things we will get tested on for an FA role at a big tech startup? I didn't get any additional info besides it's timed and on Excel. I think there might be data modeling maybe relating to sales commission since it's a sales finance role but I don't even know where to start for that since I never did this type of work before. Any help will be useful!

Anyone know this company called “ Kantar” - I am trying to figure out their culture and Compensation ! Glassdoor has mixed reviews- Going for TPM interview !

Senior engineering manager role at bofa (manage 40+ Headcount) or take a Sr PM offer at a pre-ipo , late stage fintech?

FinTech firm is offering 340k including rsu. I guess bofa would top out at 230k cash + stock.

What do I decide 🤦‍♂️

Thinking of switching from sales to a sales engineering role. Biggest difference is going to be higher base (plus bonus) with no commission or quota to carry. Curious as to what is a fair salary in todays climate. We’re a series C fintech company based in NYC. I’m being considered for the role because I’m one of the strongest presenters on the team. It will still be in individual contributor role with supposed path to leadership. Curious the range as well as equity to expect/ask for.

I got selected in a big fintech farm. Now I am serving notice period in my current company. Just wondering do I have to stay connected with my new employer by sending some emails periodically or in some way or is it okay to just responsive to their communication and no need to establish proactive communication. Looking for suggestion.

Those who came into fintech from finance specifically, and banking, are you happy with the leap and are you finding that you made the right decision? I'm considering this kind of move and have some options on the table but would like to hear from people
