Requesting a 60% fwa...will that level of reduction actually keep me from working a crazy busy season ?

I did 75% as a senior and averaged about 45-50 in season on the jobs where I was the only senior (S3). On jobs where there are multiple seniors and/or you’re in a support senior role, I think it’s easier to stick to your hours. I look at it as a whole year thing too, since I rarely work close to my hours in summer.

like

Yes, it will be more hours than what your hours are expected to be at 60 percent but way less than others at 100 percent. Pay is much lower and promotions might be hindered, but a good way to get by the first few years with little ones if you want to stay in PA.

The lowest I have seen is 70%. On average, she is supposed to work 32 hours a week year round. Due to client demands, he flexed during busy season and agreed to work more. She probably averaged 50 hours, which is a lot more than 32 but way less then her team. I am 85% and was expecting to work 47 and typically worked 60. But I am the only manager on my engagements and had trouble delegating up.

Are you on clients with multiple seniors? Are you efficient with your time? Do you feel confident saying no and setting boundaries? That will be crucial to managing your workload.

You can do it! Good luck, and don’t let them abuse you.

I have over 12 years in B2B sales/sales management experience along with a graduate degree. I am wanting to shift gears and I am at a point where I can invest time in myself to learn through practical experience. The new industry I am wanting to pursue is real estate investment. I have read all the books but want some hands on experience on the property management side. How could I best leverage my skills for a role in this, and what should my expectations be for negotiation in compensation?

What do y'all do for self-care? I have been trying to find easy, mostly inexpensive, mellow ways to occupy my free time in a positive way, and I'm not the most creative individual in town. Anyone want to share what's been working for them, especially during these increasingly crazy times? Thanks and Happy Thursday everyone. :)

Hi all! I spent 8 years working in the veterinary field before deciding to go back to school to get a degree in communication media. I graduated in 2020 and I got a job with a national franchise (corporate) less than a year after graduating. I cleared the Interview for SDET in Oracle today in the Manager discussion, He asked about the Expectations and I told 25 lpa, He said we cant pay that much as Your current is 14.7.
I said I can be flexible and minimum i can go for is 22 Lpa as i have another offer of 25 but considering oracle brand value i am ready to go settle but he said I can't offer you this much and left the zoom call. So How much oracle is offering for SDET of 8 Years of Experience?

Does anyone have input on an au pair? We are expecting our fourth child. So we will have four under four. I’m thinking that hiring an au pair would be more cost effective and convenient than daycare but I’d love to hear about some personal experiences. Thanks in advance!

Looking for support & validation.
I’m divorced & have 2 boys, 6 & 4 yo. Last week I took the 6 yo for a pedicure and he chose blue nail polish, well aware that he didn’t have to choose any at all. FFW to this week. It’s a “boys weekend” (kids w/dad). Their grandad is also in town, since Wed. Dad has called to ask to have the boys in the evenings (i have W &Th, always). I have said “ok, but only if you don’t say anything negative about the polish.” So… they haven’t seen them. This hurts.

I (36F) am married to another woman (34F) and we have a baby (5moF). We split all childcare, cleaning, meal prep, errands etc fairly evenly and it works well. Maybe she cooks more than I do bc she likes it, and I clean more bc I need to have a clean house. My friend (35F) recently took a business trip and literally put a binder together with instructions for her husband re: daycare drop off and pick up, what to feed the kids, when to take out the trash and so on. Hey ladies. I had a miscarriage July 2021 and my cycle started back up not long after. Then in January it just stopped.
