What do y’all make as paralegals, and with how many years of experience? Do you work with pleadings and discovery? I work as a paralegal in personal injury law and in preparation for my salary review in a couple months I would like to gather data points on paralegals with similar scope of job responsibilities. Currently a 1.5 year tenure Consultant in Deloitte GPS RFA. Just received an offer from Guidehouse for $82K, a $16K salary boost from what I make currently. Where are you located and where does payroll live in your company, and what size/industry? I'm in Ontario Canada, small (75 ppl tech firm) and payroll has always sat in finance. In prev other small and mid sized tech companies has been the same, payroll is in finance. Our new American finance leader wants it to move to HR and I absolutely do not want payroll, nor is my team capable of doing payroll, even with training. It's not standard from what I've seen, but curious what others experience is
I work directly with executives on a number of issues in their departments. Recently, I’ve noticed a trend that they as a group have become less collaborative, more testy, unwilling to listen, distrusting of each other, and unable to communicate their needs and expectations to me or each other. I wouldn’t be so alarmed if it was just one exec, but this attitude is seemingly permeating the whole group. What is going on, and how would you approach this as an HR professional?
I am an SVP in a F500 now and came across an ‘Expert Partner’ at Bain today. What is an Expert partner? Are they same as ‘Partner’?
I was given a Team Lead position a couple months ago and inherited an overall great team, except for one bad apple. What did you do?
Anyone here working in B2B sales and finding it harder since the pandemic? More people working from home so it's harder to get through on cold calls, no travelling for trade shows for easy new leads. Trying to get into using LinkedIn more too but not sold on that as an avenue really.
I have joined Deloitte in July 2021. I have been on bench for almost 4 months in my 9 months of tenure. Can I expect any appraisal on May 27th?
Just found out recently that I was being promoted to Director of HR. I've been with my company for 10 years and have worked my way up. However, I am the youngest Director at 39. I can't help but to feel that a certain older male colleague of mine who's almost 60 just does not respect me. I've saved this person from making some major blunders, yet he still treats me as if I don't know what I'm talking about. I have a masters degree and 2 senior level certifications. Anyone else dealing with this?
