I’m a new PM and I’ve come across what I think is a problem with my companies story refinement process. It’s seems as if the devs estimate user stories but QA don’t. It’s just dawned upon me because at the end of each sprint we have a bunch of features that are not complete as there is a stack of them in the testing queue.

QA also don’t feed into the commitment into for each sprint during sprint planning.

This seems wrong to me? Anyone have any advice?

How can I get them to stop and ask for another role like Solutions Architect or TPM? I was a cloud infra engineer before at an old firm but it wasn't a coding heavy role, and I am not a CS major

Can't really share this with anyone else, so thank you fellow fish for indulging. 3 years in, finally at a point where I can comfortably work 40 hours a week the last quarter+, and still be a trusted team member and major contributor. Normal tasks and collaborations now take me a fraction of the time compared to my first couple years / others on the team. 6 YOE and my TC has also gone up a lot from low 200s last year to high 200s this year. Hope to keep this optimal mix of WLB & progression 🙏

Seems like both firms have strong tech strategy practices and it would come down to personal accomplishments vs brand.
