Max out both of you are able to. Bare minimum do the company match of course. I’ve just always maxed out both

My suggestion is to max your 401k to the extent allowed. Do your own research on if Roth or Traditional is best for you. Then max a personal IRA each year as well. You will get differing opinions on this topic but my diligence and having 600k in retirement at 35 has received nothing but great praises from financial planners.

I’d max out traditional and then contribute to a Roth IRA 🤷🏼‍♀️

Roth vs traditional depends on your tax bracket now and your age. Longer you hold the Roth the better, so younger you are the more you should be putting in there

Just joined a smaller firm who uses Paychex for their 401k provider. I noticed they do not offer too many options for funds to invest in and seems lower end than my prior Schwab 401k offered. 1) Anyone have experience with Paychex and have similar observations? 2) I’m leaning towards doing enough 401k pretax contribution on Paychex to get the company match and then do the rest as a Roth IRA to obtain better investments. Any other options I’m not thinking of?

Sometimes I feel like my boss takes "coaching" a little too far. He's all about "breaking me down" in order to "build me up". He's told me things like my voice is too boring when I present, or that I didn't do enough in my last role, suggesting that I wouldn't be in his team if it weren't for him in team meetings. Yesterday he asked me to call someone (on a non-urgent topic) who was on DND, and when I told them I'd call them later, he mimicked me. Am I being too sensitive?
