Be vigilant about setting boundaries. Tell them all you are off each day from (for example) 5-7 for bath time/bedtime and if someone sends an invite for then, straight up decline it

100% this. Decide for yourself what your reasonable boundaries are. Block off your calendar for those times, and don’t be afraid to tell people you’re busy those times for family needs. Be professional and flexible when you can, but don’t feel pressured to work until 3 AM to try and keep up with a project that goes sideways (if it does). Work your 40-50 hours, then step away and bond with your baby and sleep. Your family is important - work will always be there.

If you are nursing and/or pumping, block your calendar as well in 30 minute increments and hold to those! If you feel comfortable, tell the team you are doing that. (I have 2 male clients who have had kids and they understood)

As I have seen getting billability is not in our hands, for some weeks I'm not billable at all or you can say on bench. I'm getting billability on weekly basis. Even in a week I'm 50% billable which anyway going to hamper utilisation %. But still part of the project.

Hi fishes good evening. I joined CapG on 26th may 2021 as a Associate consultant.  Till this date i got appraisal as well as promotion also.
But this is not sufficient  for a 5 year experience Data Engineer. So i resigned on 12 th june 2022. My current CTC is 9 lpa and i asked them 15lpa for retain. Hi Mamas! Expecting my first little one this Fall, my husband works in an ER so works long, unpredictable & odd hours. One of us will likely have to go part time (we can’t afford a nanny, and both work lots of evenings after daycares close, no family nearby). He loves his job so I think I might be the one to go part time. Have you ever seen this in consulting? Any experience with it or reccos for firms that manage it well?
