Can we talk about wedding planners and upsells? Things with our planner started out great, but now every other conversation she's trying to upsell this, that, and the other thing...with no real regard to our budget. Is it me or does the newer generation value more intangible things that aren’t easily measured like work-life balance, fulfillment and purpose in work. Which makes it difficult for firms because that’s not something that is easily measured. Also, this is why there is “value” in crypto, NFTs and the metaverse. It’s a clash of the generations that value tangible things like money, houses, cars and one that values time, experiences, personal online image. Thoughts?

Why does the street, and people in general, care so much about the technicality & formal announcement of a recession (2quarters of negative GDP)? Q1 was heavily negative GDP and now FED Atlanta revised Q2 Fcst to 0.0% growth. Let's be honest with ourselves, we are in one now. Why does nobody think this narrowly and wait till data release day and then finally screech "wE aRe iN a RecEsSioN"

Hey! I've always wanted to get into IB (prestige, money, you name it), however now that I'm in a more laid back environment (better WLB, "easier work") it doesn't seem as attractive as before and the pay is quite good for an analyst level (I think the pay is competitive even comparing with IB's pay in my country) . I wanted to know if anyone had the same experience and what were your thoughts (pursue an MBA and leave your comfort zone and "good pay" or just stick with it). TIA!
