Would you rather manage clients or manage internal resources?
Ive done both and prefer PM without question
It varies where you are but in general a PM should see a project from start to finish. There is a lot of admin but in general you are far more involved in the day to day as a PM and run the overall project/s for a client. Accounts, in general are more involved with bringing in the overall selling in of the project/s as well as bringing in new work. You'll likely also get to know the internal team/s more if you go the PM route or get to know the client/s more if you go the account route. I
Think longer term - do you like finance & agency operations OR strategy & creative? As you progress in your career at an agency or otherwise - PM is focused on operations while AM is focused on client business strategy and growth. The path you take should lead you towards one or the other in the long run.
