I’m unable to DM you, no option to do that ;(

Thank you SC1 for your insights!
With the change expected in the economic outlook, I expect the project focus to change from growth to more cost cutting/performance improvement etc - are you seeing something similar?

Also, regarding client projects, are most of them in the Midwest/NE region?

like

Thank you all for your responses!

like

How’s your experience been so far - onboarding, training? Have you started on a project already?

like

Unable to send DMs yet ;(

like

Thank You RB1, I really like the “good small size” factor where you can get to work/know many people!

Regarding strength in Auto/Industrials/Chemicals….what makes RB better positioned than the competition out there?

Also, I’ve heard of good international opportunities at the firm? How does that play out esp. with the focus on growing NA presence?

like

Yes there are good international opportunities, people transfer offices, have international trainings, work on international teams, etc. people used to travel abroad more than most firms before pandemic, but all travel has been lesser for everyone since the pandemic started

Project experience in good in terms of developing strategic and managerial skills but WLB isn’t good.

like

WLB can be anywhere from decent to horrific depending on what partner/manager you work with. A LOT of experienced people, including me, left over the last year and a half due to how bad WLB is/was. They’re trying to fix it but idk

Happy to discuss if you send a private message

Excellent if you are interested in automotive, energy, or chemicals, but very few projects outside of those industries.

Project experience is good if you are interested in strategy, but it will not always be for the sexiest clients (lots of automotive suppliers, middle market PE). Very little risk of being stuck on a long implementation project, I’d say average projects are between 8-12 weeks.

Don’t like the work life balance, it’s a bit worse than my BB (about on par with M from what I’ve seen) peers and a lot worse than my big 4 friends. Don’t think it’s anything inherent about the firm, just due to the short projects we tend to have.

Do like small firm benefits (easy networking, feel like you know everyone, very little red tape) and the overall culture I’ve seen in Boston and Chicago office.

RB is looking to expand to other industries- happy to chat over dm

Happy to share my experience. Overall an honest and collaborative culture , needs more scale and consistency

Would appreciate some help with how to handle ambiguity with requesting information from clients. Example: we are upgrading an add on of a client’s ERP. We asked for support contacts for all applications and add ons. that we need to talk to. While working the project, we were told by the client that we had not engaged xxxxx support team. When we told them they hadn’t told us that this particular team existed, their response is “this isn’t an application or add on, it’s a utility.”
