Romance in the office. Love this subject. A year later I can confirm it's definitely a no no. It has made certain situations so awkward. Regardless of how hard you try to hide it. People WILL find out. How many of you dabble in it and how do you manage? Are you afraid of the possible repercussions that come with it?

Oh yeah, that's definitely a bad idea. I have dabbled, I will admit, but it was always known that it wasn't going to be a serious thing. So things happened and then they didn't and life went on with no problems. But looking back I can see that was pretty lucky, the usual situation is that you wind up with lots of drama. And you're right, if it goes on long enough people will figure it out and then you have more drama on your hands.

Yea i always say that I don't dip my pen in company ink for these reasons. Someone ALWAYS finds out and it just seems to create so much drama. I would rather just avoid it altogether so I only date outside of work. Although my grandparents met at work.

It always comes out. In my 20s it was awesome. In my 30s I got married and behaved. In my 40s I’m still married but would just find it exhausting. Haha.

I Joined Accenture in May and today I received an email stating that
"There is a change in your roll-off plan. The date has now been changed to 05-Sep-2022.
Please reach out to your Project Manager/HR Rep for more details.
In the meantime, if you would like to explore new opportunities within ATCI, please visit IJP portal and to explore GCP/other entity opportunities, visit ACM portal."
What it means?, even not able to apply for new role in IJP, Shall I start looking out side or how?

Anybody out here know of any “development programs” for mid career professionals looking to transition to sales? Have a data/analytics b/g., but I’m much more social than a “typical” data/analytics person. We have a program at my company that I’m networking to get into, but believe it’s prudent to diversify options, as there is obviously no guarantee that they select me for the program.

Looking for career advice. 8 total YOE and 3 1/2 in sales specifically. Just over 3 YOE with an industrial IoT company selling mostly hardware and some custom software solutions and occasionally cloud connectors as an inside sales engineer. Just trying to figure out what roles may make the most sense given that background. Hoping to stay in tech. Thanks!

Curious to what an average salary for a IT Account Manager is? I feel I am underpaid (50K base). My yearly quota is $700,000 and I have hit that in the first 7 months. I do make 10% of what I sell. I also think that my colleagues who have not performed to the level I have make much more on base than I do. Any thoughts/advice?

Coming with 8 years of international sales, account management & shopper marketing experience, I’m getting Retail Associate/Sales Associate offers by CPG companies with as low as $18/hr and $0.46 per km fuel.

While I think it’s a great opportunity to learn about the Canadian market as a new resident, it would break my bank and I would have to buy the car for this roles while living in Midtown Toronto. It doesn’t make financial sense to me.

My manager casually threw out that she had an exec tell her it’s fine if she wants to close my division down next year. We are a niche team in a large company. I asked her to clarify as I am worried about my team (and me) she said we would be “well taken care of” as in receive severance…she was so casual about it and said she didn’t know what she would do - we’re performing well, but it’s a small market. What do I do? Warn my team? Look for jobs? I have been here for 20 years w/niche skills…
