It’s extremely easy to do yourself
Airports is 5 bucks minus tips. I do it once a month. You can afford it , treat yourself
Buy a Polish kit? Didn't realize people actually went to someone to get them polished.
Its kind of like washing your car. You can pay someone else to do it, but you get a sense of fulfillment from doing it yourself.
Airport. Easy. And I ruined a pair of shoes doing it myself. This was pre-YouTube

Macy’s shoe department will sometimes has a same day drop off where they shine them up for cheap
Whoa! @nav1 I didn’t know about that service! There is a Nordstrom right across from my client site. I’m going to give that a try. Thanks for the tip!

My porch.
Airport is easy but some of them are downright bad (BOS Terminal A) or wicked expensive (LGA Terminal C). If I’m going though somewhere where I know the shoe shines are good I’ll pay, otherwise do it myself over the weekend.

A combination of airport and DYI(military habits don’t die). Just a note on airport and other fast shine places, they use products that dry out the leather, which for most shoes won’t matter because the sole will give our way before the leather breaks, but if you have really high end shoes, DYI/pro shoe maintenance to fast shine should be 4 or 3 to 1.
