Questions for past/ current Accenture or Big 4 folks. I noticed in some threads that SC level only applies to Strategy consulting (at Accenture- not sure about big 4). Could Product Manager be SC level if I have my MBA or is it not even considered a Strategy role? And do they only consider you an “MBA hire” if it’s from a top tier school? Lastly, I’ve seen quite a big salty range for MBA hires. Anyone care to share the latest? TIA.
Do mid size firms have similar advancement schedules as B4 i.e. associate (2 years), senior (3 years), manager (3 years), senior manager?
Need recommendations for things to do tonight and tomorrow night in Boston. I am on-site - Boston downtown till Thursday. First time in Boston. I will most probably be solo (may be 1-2 coworkers but not sure). Want to explore the bar scene, and meet random people (like it used to be before COVID). I know most night clubs are closed on weeknights, so looking for next best thing. M, 30s. Tia.
When you go from C to M1, do you get the manager bonus that same promotion cycle, or does it not apply until the next year?
Anyone else get “recruited” then the company wants you to go through all the normal steps of applying? Formal applications and multiple rounds of interviews. I have someone I used to work for trying to recruit me to their organization. They’re pretty high up and I’d be under their span of control. Already talked to the recruiter and had a first interview but they want to do more interviews.
How is Deloitte USI (Strategy and Analytics practice) Heathcare and Lifesciences domain in terms of perks, growth, wlb, exit opportunities? Do I still get Marriott points / nights when booking through firms travel agency (adelman)?
I’m sending an email to female partner in a leadership position (never met) to set up a meeting to introduce myself. My plan is to send her a short email, giving some background about myself and let her know I want to connect to introduce myself. During the meeting, I plan to discuss my key projects, ask about her vision and how I can help her/which initiatives could participate. I’m up for Sr Mgr promotion and making a good impression is critical. Any tips? anything else I should prep?
Calling for all MBA alums who pivoted from finance (IB PE) to tech (big tech PM or Venture or start up). Do you regret making the switch? What lessons have you learned along the way? Any tips for people who are also making the similar transition? Thanks!
Anyone else have to go into the office? Despite the rise of COVID and no billable hours.
Hey guys, I am renting a car first time tomorrow for client business. Have a 3 hr+ drive and was hoping for a premium car which we obviously can't reserve through acn. Has anyone tried upgrading and
Does your firm reimburse mileage related to driving into the office to work overtime on a weekend? EY does, how about the other firms?
@partners - I have two opportunities. One is to lead a group for a corporation (industry). The other is to join another consulting firm, doing the same work that I am doing now. While the comp will be better to stay in consulting and I do like the idea of becoming a partner one day, I am intrigued with the steady industry role... any advice?
Best books about product management for a good exit to industry? I already have an MBA and PMP but looking for a refreshed perspective since it’s been years since my formal education. Currently reading “Product Managements Sacred Seven” but it’s geared toward the startup world. I am in healthcare and not looking for a startup role. TIA!!!
Ideas for fun team events on remote sites? We are in a construction site in the middle of nowhere (so prob restricted to hotel) but have a lot of junior associates and want to make it fun for them!
I’d like to apologize in advance as this maybe a touchy topic for certain folks. For those that have been in the Big 4 for sometime now (i.e. was hired before this covid induced hiring spree over the past couple months), are you concerned that your market value would decrease as a result of the firms hiring people left and right? In other words, the recruiting has been excessively relaxed now compared to when there was intense competition.
