I work for a non profit litigation group and handle federal litigation and administrative hearings as necessary. It’s salary with no billables. There’s some job insecurity and I’m thinking about jumping to a firm and would be “part-time” until and unless the group decides to replace me. I’m just trying to figure out how the billing would work. I’m salaried currently and don’t know how to structure it at a new firm so I am still getting paid for the project. Any thoughts?

I got an informal offer stating the salary range before they officially extend a written offer. I accepted over email and the recruiter said this:

Are you comfortable accepting at the (lowest part of the range) and everything else listed? Or would it need to be on the higher end of the range I suggested?

What the heck do I say while being polite??? Of course I would rather it be higher than the lowest part of the range!!

I never had my comp discussion...here's to a surprise paycheck tomorrow! 😑

After seeing someone from the UK team mentioning about becoming top-heavy I would like to share the following: Our team consist of 4 partners, 5 directors, 12 (sr) managers, 11 sr associates 2, 4 sr associates 1 and 4 associates.
