They’re basically two different agencies. Not exactly an accurate comparison, but your question is along the lines of: “Adidas people, what can you tell me about Nike?” Wouldn’t you want to address people at the actual place you’re inretested in hearing about?

Sad to say, but I worked at T1 more than a decade ago, so not sure how accurate my take is. Chris Graves has been there the whole time. Great guy imo. Their work quality ebbs and flows depending on which rotating cast of clients is handling the biz. Saw some really cool work in my time there. Also saw some inexplicably bad work in my time there. Nothing’s gonna get you industry envy, but I feel like they still do stuff that’s worth a damn often enough, despite what some have said on this thread.

It’s the country club. Very cushy gig, if you’re looking to retire. They never fire, and they never hire. Same client for 30 years. 500+ employees for a single account. Not nearly enough work to go around. And the folks who do have projects to work on, totally phone it in. 😎

OP, I think the opposite actually. It’s a high performing place that doesn’t have all the pressure of hipper than thou creative elitism. Plus, you may get to travel to some cool places because car shoots have money. I know plenty of people who started their careers there and are doing quite fine with their lot elsewhere.

When I was freelancing there, it seemed very “comfortable”. Since Lexus was their primary client, it almost felt like I was working in-house at Lexus rather than an agency working for Lexus. Didn’t feel like people had incentive to be creative or innovative other than the Fab Lab team, which was their creative tech branch that did most of the experiential tech activations.

Theyre famous for not really doing much. The only stuff I ever see for Lexus really is Xmastime Sales Event stuff. But somehow they all stay fully employed all year, doing who knows what. Not exactly a sweatshop—but its kind of the other extreme, a black hole from which you rarely hear of someone emerging. Seems like a good option if youre, shall we say, further along in your career...?

Yeah its brand new, like since January.

Hands down, best work life balance I’ve had in my career. Such good people and a real family atmosphere/culture. That said, you ain’t going to Cannes with the level of work they do. But maybe that’s ok?

What kinds of extracurriculars "count" for admissions? For example, I'm a serious musician and play in competitions and gigs; I also have some leadership experience from college that was pretty extensive (used it for all my job interviews) but hasn't continued since then. Also, how many activities do they usually ask for? Just trying to get a sense of how/if I should adjust my activities to be more "application-ready".

Good news and bad news: We are expecting our first child in the next 2mo. Sadly, we’ve also just lost a close family member. As a result, we’ve come into a little money and would like to put maybe $10-15K aside to start a college savings for baby. Does anyone have experience with this? What’s the best way to go about it? I’m not hugely familiar with this, but want to make sure I understand the fees and taxes that may be affiliated with different options. Would be grateful for any insight!

I was reached out to about a role that I was interested in pursuing but the recruiter said their base was 30k-40k lower than my range. However, recruiter came back 2 weeks later and said they can make it work and is interested in setting me up for interviews. In the mean time within those 2 weeks, I ended up accepting a role and started the new job. I would have taken the first job but don’t want to renege. What do I tell the first company so doors are left open for future if needs arise?
