Ageism laid bare. This is the sad reality of the business. Agency leaders who linger into their 60s, who have completely dismissed the value of their contemporaries to keep themselves afloat. Shame on you Mark Read.

BA1 you’ve completely missed how agile at scale works.
🤦♂️
Agile is a joke in my opinion. 7 people can’t deliver a large scale, mission critical system. Instead, take the principles from agile (iterative, incremental, flexibility)
BA1, that’s why you work for BA. There can be more than one Agile team working towards the same ultimate goal. No one takes 7 people and expects them to build and deliver a massive system with many moving parts. If Agile was a joke don’t you think these massive tech companies that deliver amazing products would be in trouble ?
BA1 ever heard of SAFe?
Yeah try developing and rolling out a system used by over 100 government agencies (all of the major ones you can think of) with a team of 7 people. Idiot.
Any delivery methodology will be as good or bad as how well or poorly it’s executed. Taking for granted for a moment that you have the right resources, Agile, much like any other philosophy, is not a “one size fits all” approach and it will work better in some scenarios compared to others.
That being said, I do find the fundamentals of agile better, but it’s not a catch all for everything.
I’ve taken 3 agile certifications and found them average at best.
According to those classes, one of the key weaknesses of agile is “the ability to deliver a large scale, mission critical system with 7 people”
OP I have worked for several firms including Accenture. Get off your high horse just because we have conflicting opinions.
And you were probably let go for the ignorant comments you make. I believe you resorted to calling BCG1 an idiot because of conflicting opinions? No one ever said Agile fits all scenarios. You can deliver a large scale mission critical using Agile, but maybe not using one 7 person Agile team. You did not give us an example of what you considered a large scale mission critical system until after BCG1 commented. Then you hit us with a 100 government agency system. No shit you can’t deliver something like that with 7 people. You’re clearly the idiot for using that as an example. Agile barely works in the government in general because of all the damn red tape and antiquated processes. I’m on a govt project and it’s a giant pain. There is a serious culture change needed to be successful with Agile.
