Wa’alaikum asalaam.
For me it started with acknowledging that I was slacking the desire to do better, which happened as I got older.
The thing that helped me the most was making wudu after using the restroom so I was always in a state of wudu. No idea why, but for some reason it just felt like it was easier to get up and pray when it was time rather than delaying and/or missing it.
I also started with fardh only. After a while, 5 fardh became a daily habit again.
A little while after that, I started praying sunnah as well.
Sometime after that, I started praying tahajjud (and still do most nights).
Making improvements little by little and adding on to existing good habits is what’s helped me stay on top of my prayers these past few years.
Also, if you’re an iOS user, I highly recommend the pray watch app. The app is free (for now), no ads, clean simple UI, widgets, and Apple Watch complications. You can also set how much time to notify before sunrise or the next salah.
As an Apple Watch user, it was super helpful to be able to glance down and see how much time until the next prayer so I could plan accordingly.

Thank you for the pray watch widget! I’ve used the app but didn’t know about the widget so Jazakallah
Try going for isha, it’s the easiest salah to pray in the masjid. Start with once a week and try to slowly increase.
The best way to be more than Friday Muslim is to go easy on yourself. Start with Isha and try to make a friend in the masjid and keep going back for making friends after Isha. You will notice that you have started to enjoy Isha and slowly build from there for other salah
I'm the datapoint
Agreed! If you make friends that go to the masjid it def helps
ASAK! So i am currently a ‘Friday muslim’. However I have my phases of being a proper namazi. I have realised what works for me is listening to Islamic lectures online or following islamic pages, starting with little duas. This works for me when my iman is low and I am struggling to find something to hold onto. It’s like that little ray of sunshine in gloomy days. When i start step by step, it somehow hits me to do more. I hope this helps.
I have never heard the term “namazi”😭
