Hello Fishes, I’m interviewing for a senior program manager role at Amazon and HR asked me my total comp expectations. Being new to tech I really don’t know where to start. I don’t want to short change myself or reach too high. I’m a Consulting SC at D with 10 YoE (experienced hire from government) making $130k now. What I’ve seen online is a massive range from 150s into the 300s. This is a non-tech role. Any insight as to what’s appropriate is appreciated!

Recently my company has added a new component in salary which has increased overall CTC of every employee.


We've not received any revised salary breakup only an official email stating everyone's CTC is increased. Started receiving salary based on the updated CTC.


When trying to make a switch, new firm is asking for revised salary breakup but I've shared the email screenshot along with my salary slips showing my increased salary. But HR said she needs updated salary breakup.

Does vodafone insist on sharing offer letter, I have already shared salary break out page?

The worst creative I’ve ever worked with was just hired by W+K. Never made any decent work. Didn’t care about the work. We got awesome briefs creatives dream of and they wouldn’t lift a finger, putting extra work on the rest of the team. They mostly went unnoticed in the agency except by the people on their immediate teams who hated working with them. When we found out they were leaving, everyone assumed they got fired. How to negotiate salary when you’ve given them a range? I recently panicked and told the recruiter my expected range. If I get to the offer stage, I assume they will offer me the lower end of my range and of course I don’t want to sound ungrateful or greedy, but is there a way to negotiate to a little higher?

I have always a dream to do masters and for different reasons I was unable to pursue my masters. Started a new job back in January. Creative Director, a team of 7. Went back & fourth in negotiating. Offered 110k. Asked for 120k, settled on 115k. I even threw in that I was taking a hit with benefits, needing to pay 5k more as compared to my position I was leaving. That’s how I got it to 115k. At my annual I plan to address again, in partnership with the impact this position will have made this past year. What do other creative directors earn, if you don’t mind sharing? What’s the average salary / salary range for Strategy Directors in NYC at branding agencies or design firms?

Annual reviews are held September thru October at my current company. I started in July so I did not receive one last year. These reviews determine promotions, raises and bonus amounts. Earlier this year I received an added responsibility of managing someone and it came with a small salary increase. I guess my question is do you think this salary bump means I will not receive a raise? I personally feel like the salary increase solely covers the new responsibilities attached to managing.

I have an opportunity working for my dream company but I was told my salary expectations were too high. I was using my last job as a reference since this is a lateral move (I was laid off a few weeks ago). Was I overpaid or is this company just cheap?
