NYC AM 50 VC/Startup, 3 years experience before came to this firm, 128K base + 25K signing bonus (but have to work here 18 months to get all money). Billing requirement is 1,600 but already billed 2,290 by end of last week.
How did you get into corporate? I’m interested, but I only have litigation and IP experience.
Im still in shock that u got a signing bonus as a para? Ive never heard of that & Im in NYC too. Im in Comm Foreclosure Lit & want to move to transactional/corporate
I came with a team. It was very common in 2020-2022 Spring to give signing bonus to paralegals in VC filed. I don’t think law firms do that now since the market is less competitive.
Can you explain VC work a little? I am in immigration - interested in switching fields
Venture capital is just help funds to invest money in startup companies. Most of my clients are startup. For startup part, we handle formation, cap table management, security filings, financing rounds; for VC part, if VC decides to invest money in a startup during a financing round, we do diligence review and form subsidiaries if requested.
