How is the job security in @Capco.@Capco
I have a question, fellow bowlaz! I work in a small advertising agency in Oslo, Norway, and we struggle to get in contact with international ad media such as Adweek (Ad Freak) and Ad Age whenever we want to show off our creative work. Does anyone of you have a way in, or tips on how we can get in contact with media outlets like these? Cheers
While we’re on the topic of teacher disrespect: https://forward.com/life/162899/what-s-with-all-the-teacher-hate/?gamp “Teachers had opted out of the capitalist game; they weren’t in this world for money. There could be only one reason for that: they were losers. They were dimwitted, unambitious, complacent, unimaginative, and risk-averse. They were middle class.”

I have strategist friends in NYC at a few different agencies. Glassdoor and the Siftly survey are both way high. Even for people with higher degrees.
Here’s my estimate of starting salaries- other planners keep me honest:
Junior strat: ~$55k
Strategist (mid level) ~$70k
Senior Strategist ~$90k
Obviously those are big jumps, so it’s expected that you’ll get raises when you’ve been in the position a little longer.
^ it’s wildly inaccurate. Never heard of a junior making the salaries they reported. Look at the 15/16 report by Heather LeFevre and add % for low unemployment.
If you’re UK, I’ve found the Major Players survey fairly accurate - https://www.majorplayers.co.uk/salary-survey-2018/
Be aware that if you were a strategist by title but came in without prior experience, you were most likely still being treated like and compensated as a junior. See this all the time, and it confuses people new to the industry
Siftly just published their Strategy salary guide
Could be useful for other roles, but probably not junior planner. Also check out Glassdoor obv. for averages.
I’ve noticed that Glassdoor averages seem to over estimate- have you found this to be true as well?
Thanks everyone!
