Denver, M2 (soon to be M3), 105K. Been with the firm almost 8 years and always a high performer. Feeling like that's low though.

Deloitte 1, can you give me your data point so I know how low?

If you want to make partner it makes sense to forgo some salary early and stay at the same firm because it takes time to build the relationships necessary to be a partner. Otherwise, you need to jump ship to get paid market. You can interview and get other offers and see if your current firm will match but doesn’t always work out.

like

Only do this if actually ready and willing to jump. Some firms will wait until you resign to move and match. Some will let you go.

I am at the same level and earn exactly the same in Philly.

(First ever post) I originally I joined this app to learn from others in consulting on a variety of topics (gender perspectives, comp, tips/ recommendations). Ever since downloading, I see more hatred and people making judgements on others with little context. Consultants are supposed to problem solvers but instead of people sharing perspectives I feel I’m back on Twitter reading threads that only create hate. Anyone else feel that way?

Considering leaving for another firm job, one year in. Thoughts? New position would be a better practice area fit and would only work with clients in the industry I want. Currently it’s about 60% of what I’d like. Also, current firm seems to be stagnating with low hours to go around. I’m worried about not making hours, missing my bonus, and low professional development. Comparable on prestige & exit options and would be $5k less. Just worried about burning bridges and leaving “too soon.”

Hello fellow teachers. It’s my second year teaching and I’ve begun to get my pace in the classroom with discipline except one student. She doesn’t do her work and when my coteacher and I walk around, she doesn’t accept help (for example, she will sit looking at her blank work so when we go over to ask her how should she start the problem or can we read it to understand, she’ll pull away her chromebook and annoyingly says I don’t need help. This student currently has a 0% in math because of this.

Have any of you guys passed FAR in a month of cramming? I’m also working but my clients are a little bit easier this time of year and have some PTO days at the end of next month. With my health off the rails after nearly a decade in public accounting, I’m honestly starting to look even at positions in the $70s. Suggestions welcome.

3rd year corporate at V10 in major market. Thoughts on getting ahead of the “being asked to leave” conversation expected early in fourth year? Does it make sense to try to jump ship beforehand (presumably to a similar firm)? Have been extremely slow this year, especially since COVID (50-hour April) and expect I’m not earning my keep. No layoffs yet but obviously I need to be profitable for the firm.
