2017 grad so technically a 4th year. Lateraled to a CRE boutique in NYC that’s a major player. Learned quickly that my experience/knowledge/organization is not up to par (was a COG in the machine at prior firm). Just had EOY review and, though positive sounding, they’re dropping me to a 3rd year to ensure I’m not billing as a 4th year and able to do the work to learn/get up to par. I feel pretty okay about it (market salary deduction notwithstanding), but want to make sure I’m not being naive.

BCG pymetrics result is not accurate at all and very opposite to my MBTI result - pymetrics says I’m a risk taker, not experimental in learning, working equally hard on all tasks, and using my gut to make decisions. I don’t think I’m a consultant material based on pymetrics😅

I do L & E but don’t have experience w/ military contractors. Just conducted my first deposition and did not go as I had hoped. Was the 3rd named defendant so had to limit my time (around 2 hours) and the witness was so aloof (basically answered “I don’t know” to everything). I don’t work in big law, but some of my classmates,who are going into big law, are bragging about the low number of billable hours they are required to hit. I’m hearing 1,600-1,800 billable hours.
