Sanity/mental roadblock check: I find myself needing to be comfortable in a new thing/technology before tackling anything/work involving this. Is this abnormal for a consultant? Anyone feel like this

You telling me you actually want to know what you are talking about before getting in front of a client? ;)

I was onboarded to a client on a Tuesday and had to present to them on a Friday on a topic I was previously unfamiliar with... you better believe I spent all 3 days in seclusion learning up on that stuff so I didn’t look like an idiot. It sucked, but it totally worked :)

@KPMG1: Lol....I do

Well, that is KPMG for you!

I’m with ya OP

Normal to want to be knowledgeable before being before client. Normal to always feeling inadequately prepared. The drive to get ready, as demonstrated by KPMG2, is why you are right for the job.

Thanks guys.

That would be the ideal way to go right? Usually we just learn on the job and try to sound like we really do know what we r talking about

Mid-level producer salaries in SF?

Hello guys, does anyone know what the salary range for a junior HR generalist is in Vancouver, Canada? I have an interview soon and I am sure they will bring up the salary talk!

What are some of the most unique (and successful) brand partnerships or event partnerships you’ve seen lately?

A month ago I was given a promotion w/o a raise, and my new responsibilities were announced to the whole office. I’ve been persistent in following up to discuss salary and it’s always a song and dance about “benchmarking exercises”. The latest is that they “may” be able to offer 4-5% since it’s “a promotion but not a level change”… but no sense of timing commitment and frankly, less money than I know I’m worth. Really like the work but it’s crushing me. Any last ditch negotiation ideas?

Is the Chloé Nile now an outdated style? I feel like I never see it anymore (only the Tess and the faye) and some Chloe styles just don’t age well to me personally, like the Marcie. Not a huge fan of a lot of their newer released bags either.

I want to get a dog. More specifically, a golden retriever. However, I have two major concerns: 1) this consulting lifestyle where I could potentially be away all the time and 2) I live in a pretty large 1/1 apartment (over 1000 sqft), but it's still an apartment.

(Side note: I grew up with a dog, but I left him to be with my parents since my dad is retired and can spend all day with him)
