For long term, start gradually getting exposure to different industries/trends. Fintech, big tech/internet, autonomous/robots, consumer packaged goods, retail, healthcare, industrials, renewable energy, crypto, etc.
How do I decide what percentage to allocate to each of these industries?
If you want lots of volatility and gains, TSLA. If you more conservative, ARKK and VTSAX.

There is no magic number or formula. I would definitely speak to a fiduciary financial advisor
Some people look at price to earnings, others look at volatility (beta), some look at historical returns, etc.
My recommendation is to start by putting a big chunk in VOO/SPY ( they rrack the same thing), and a smaller chunk in QQQ. Those two indexes basically track the general atock market. If the economy is doing well, those will be doing well. They also tend to donwell even when the economy is going to shit.
Then I would start exploring putting money on ETFs that have a strategy that you like. For example CLIX invests in online retailers and bets against primarily brick and mortar retailers. That makes sense to me, so I have CLIX. There are many others like ESPO for eSports, GDX for gold, etc.
Once you got the ETFs with I would look at ETFs that can work as hedges, things that go up when the economy goes to shit, thise are more advanaced and will probably lose money long term, but also help you keep money should shit hit the fan again.
And then when you have all that start looking at individual stocks that make sense to you. Those that have a solid business case, an atractive price to earning, manageable liability, etc.
