Definitely buying!
Next week I’m buying EVERYTHING in sight. Microsoft, GE, 3M, Facebook, google, ford, etc. prepare to buy in big cause this shits bouncing back as soon as this common cold outbreak starts to get treated as such
Intelligent response until you said common cold outbreak.
I've lost 16% of my 401k value.... still holding
Do not sell. You’ve only have lost money when you’ve realized those losses.
I’ve got my 12 month emergency fund set and have started buying more into the market on a DCA basis
The right move will be to buy, but it's still too early.
IMO. The market will continue to drop until two things happen:
1) Rate of transmission slows
2) A treatment meets its primary endpoint in a controlled clinical trial
Sell enough to have 12 months of liquidity if you lose your job.
Otherwise, hold on
That money doesn’t exist. Ignore it. Continue betting on the long-term health of the global economy. Start thinking about how to shift into a lower growth / higher protect mode when you’re 60.
Do not try to time the market with your 401k. Just keep going.
Waiting for the bottom then buy buy buy
2 days of positive growth in the market will signal return to BAU. I’m waiting until the full testing results are done and there is a recovery plan to be in place. That’s when investors will calm down.
I'm down over $50k just in my 401k. Still holding with no plans to sell. Stay strong and ride this one out.
By the way, I’m 30 years old and my risk tolerance is high.
Even if it goes down more or up to the highest levels you can’t touch it. Leave it in and forget about it. Don’t try to read the market it’s a mess.
I’m 52 and holding course, possibly buying more.
Buying
Would you have sold if you were up 16%?
These fluctuations when your retirement is 25-30 years out are meaningless. A nice story that you can share with your children/grandchildren one day.
If you want to invest based on speculation and short term fluctuations, there are better investment vehicles to use other than a 401k
Hold and buy more if you have extra funds right now.
How do you buy more into 401k? I thought it was purely fund managed?
When I said “buy” I meant in terms of my S&P 500 fund, which is unrelated to my 401k
I really appreciate this everyone! 🙏🏾
Holding and buying more using paycheck. I’ve lost like 50k in the past month
Down about 200k in my investments, holding. Have put another 50k in on the way down.
How are you buying these individual stocks? No insider trader policy?
Stay the course!
