Using the phrase “don’t be a pu**y” in the workplace? — I just started at a tech start-up company, coming from a large corporate accounting firm. My new company has a huge table where they gather to eat lunch together (company paid lunches every day) and my desk is nearby. The other day I heard two male coworkers talking and one said the phrase “don’t be a pu**y”. I know cursing in the workplace isn’t technically against the law, but thoughts on words like that?? I was taken aback.

Hi fishes, I completed 1 year at Capgemini(fresher). Worked on one project for 5 months without billable from client. Now they released me from that project and soon i will get another project at my preferable location. My concern is from the joining date to till date (1 year passed) I didn't get any billing as I worked only 5 months on a project, so is it like my 2 yrs bond aggreement is not started? I heard from someone that once you get billable then only your 2 year bond starts. Pls tell me.

I recently started working as Associate Project Manager in CBRE project management in New York. I am paid $80,000 plus bonus. I think I am paid less, but just wanted to check with the group here on what you all think.
I have 4 years of experience, Masters in civil engineering.

Any tips for helping to get operations work recognized? I’m officially in ops but cover programs, business, and catch-all organizational needs. In the last year we rebranded and scaled 500% (staff, program offerings, funding) and I was the sole employee covering organizational ops at 100% during that time. When I proposed a title and compensation review, I was told I didn’t achieve enough impact. Unfortunately skills in project management and operations are not weighed heavily in comp reviews.

How do you all *actually* set boundaries at work, especially during busy season? There’s a lot of advice out there about making appointments for any personal plans (workouts, dinner, etc.) and treating them as you would work appointments, but then you get the pings “hey we just got comments from the partner on XYZ, can you address them asap?” And pushing back on that for other stuff that’s not an emergency would get frowned upon. I feel like I’m running myself ragged - senior if that’s helpful

I just had an interview for a pretty big tech company, and it was the final step for an offer (just a one on one with the hiring manager, skipped the panel portion). During the interview, I didn’t get to speak at all! The hiring manager spoke the entire time and didn’t ask me any questions, I had to practically chime in to tell her about myself. The only thing she asked was if I had any questions about the role (which I did ask). Thoughts about this? Not sure what to think or how it turned out.

What should I do for consevative strategy of investment. I invested in RE before and never had time and brush up my knowledge in stock other than puting to my 401k. Now my paychecks per month is $10k. I spend maybe $3k for expense and misc stuffs. What is the best way to put maybe $3k to work? Buying big giant stocks? Or just some funds?
