I would get recommendations for the place more than anything. There are lots of salons that are just trying to sell you packages and don’t really care if you see results and will laser you on a lower strength to get you to buy more sessions. Trust me I’ve spent thousands on lasering. At a good place depending on your hair/skin type it may take anywhere from 6-15 sessions. Some people need more.
Thanks for the input!
Agree with above. If you’re light skinned and dark hair you’re ideal. If you have darker skin or lighter hair you aren’t. I went to ideal image and I paid for 9 treatments. If I need more then I only pay a small co pay. I’m sure they are having sales now because of the economy.
That’s so strange. Likely for me my hair is black on my legs. So it’s working. Happy they were honest w you
I would recommend looking into places that discount after so many services, I've seen some that do 50% off after 6th treatment. I'm on my 10th and wish I would have done that instead of a groupon for 6 treatments.
Oh that’s good to know!
Make sure they use the correct laser! In high school I did it and it didn’t work so we got our money back - but they were using an IPL laser which is for skin. I recently found a new place with all great reviews and so far so good
Realistically it takes more like 15 sessions, even though these laser places advertise as 6-8. I know many of my friends have had the same experience as me. I'd rather find a place that's good than a cheap package...
I bought 10 sessions on Groupon and had ZERO results .. I would definitely read into the salon you visit.
I did about six sessions and a touch up like once a year. I have light skin and dark hair. Love it. Did my legs and under arms too. My legs I still have some hair but it’s so light and thin that I don’t care. You save money and time not having to shave/wax.
I have been going to an RN at my dermatology office. A little more expensive than like a laser away but have seen great results. She was also careful to examine any new areas before starting to ensure I would get results. Similar to some previous posters, the sessions are discounted after the 5th one and she suggests 6-10 sessions. Definitely do your research on the place instead of going for the cheapest deal!
I did it and it didn’t work for me, and I have fair skin and dark hair. Plus, the pain is horrendous for having almost no visible results. I much prefer waxing over that experience again.
I wish I did. I just kept getting fed “it takes time, sometimes it doesn’t work, certain medications might affect it, sun exposure can affect it, etc”.
