Saw a post about an engagement ring here so wondering if you all have tips for wedding bands. Ideally, a half eternity band or something similar for me and a white gold 4 mm band for my partner.

As someone who originally wanted a half eternity band, get the full eternity band. It’s so nice to not have to worry about putting it on exactly the right way or worry about it getting twisted during the day. Someone else gave me that advice and I’m very glad I followed it.

I got it from a jeweler and have had no issues with diamonds popping out - it’s been 5 years. I will note I do take off my rings to exercise but leave them on for most other activities.

I couldn’t tell you what my wife’s is (it’s been a minute!).

But I wear a $15 band from Amazon. Pretty scratch resistant and I like the style. No one knows the difference.

(I got it because I lost the original pricey band. Fell of my finger while hiking! Wish I’d just give the Amazon route to begin with)

My husband wears a $20 ring from Amazon daily and we have a diamond band he only wears when we go to special events. If your partner uses their hands a lot, doesn’t care about rings, etc. etc. buy a bunch of cheap rings and have one nice ring for when you’re being actual adults.

This might be a long shot but I'm looking for a volunteer who is trying to break into a federal career. Maybe a transitioning veteran, recent grad, or career-changer.

I'm pursuing my master career coaching cert and need to do a recorded 45-minute session. You don't have to be identified if you don't want to.

The single session is all I'm asking but could certainly turn into a longer lasting coaching relationship (at no cost), if you like.

Need some FIRE advice please. I am currently 25 M, with 125k in savings across my 401k/ESPP/Personal Brokerage Acct. etc. I have no debt. Base salary of 125k with up to 25% bonus.

I contribute 20% to my pre tax (employer matches up to 6%) and 5% in my Roth 401k and 10% in my ESPP. I keep only what I need in my checking to pay rent and have some fun on the weekends, but all relative would you say that I am allocating my funds correctly. Huge believer in value investing and compound interest.

Engaged, and beginning to do joint retirement planning. I’move got IRAs, 401ks, the usual. My fiancé says she’s never opened an IRA because her parents started a program for her under New York life. Went to the website and it seems like it’s completely different - some annuities, some life insurance that you can withdraw early (?). Anyone ever go this route or have insight into it?
