Getting to 250 ish isn’t too hard. The 250 to 300 range is much harder and above that beyond hard for most roles outside of consulting. It’s typically a VP level role or strong tech role.
C1 - I’m Tech consulting and mine is identical salary bands compared to my friends in our Strategy Insights and Planning vertical … I imagine the 300- low mil comp at P reflects the same
290-340 TC seems to be a pretty solid cap
Yeah, typically at VP level, 2 levels below C suite. Few make it to SVP/ MD or C suite / Partner.
So I hit 237 base, 280 TC. Well beyond what I ever thought I’d do, but I know my limits and was never going to some super senior level.
If I am given the option to cruise like this, I would. Up or out makes it a bit complicated, and the idea of finding another role in industry that would pay me this much is slightly terrifying.
Almost $300k is a lot of money. It’s a good level to cruise at if you can control the hours. Otherwise consider product manager roles in tech. There’s maybe another $100k upside from that.

The non-partner cap varies substantially from firm to firm and industry to industry. Just looking at the US, you might have non-partners capping out in the mid $300s in strat at some firms or capping out in the low $200s doing the same work in a different firm. Or you might have a federal tech implementation cap at, say, $250k at one firm and $180k at another firm. And so on.

I’ll be making that in a few years into my career, a few decades before my “cap”
