60-69 feels right for me tbh. I definitely have some colleagues who have hit the jackpot with getting staffed on long cases that they don’t hate and finish up at 7 everyday though.
This is not including travel for me (have only worked during COVID). My guess is it would be greater than or equal if traveling
McK looks pretty accurate tbh
I left in Nov 2021.
Was on a couple of studies that were 9 am- 1 am Monday-Thursday and 9 am - 6 pm Friday. It was brutal

Woo I'm in the 3%. Come to GPS HC, we might not get paid much but we also don't work much!

Honestly impressed that Bain only has 2% above 70 hours a week when the majority of their surveyed employees were between 60-69

Love my 35-45 hour weeks at ACN Strat
That’s what I thought as well. I’m fresh PhD and didn’t get the strat job, but I’m very surprised that it’s only 35-45. Sounds amazing.

Keep in mind, this doesn't include travel time. Pre-pandemic, I was on a Deloitte project that required 70 hours a week with at least 1 all-nighter a week, but I was also doing cross country travel across 3 timezones weekly that took almost 16+ hours of time of my life. World's most perfect recipe for burnout.
Agree. Travel blurs the work life balance line completely. Just bc you are traveling to another city shouldn’t mean your whole day is work. But usually, that’s how it plays out.

Jesus, I am part of the 3%. I work like 20 h / week of effective work. Currently applying to McK and feeling scared of those hours
Come get the bread 😎
Why would travel not be included in one’s calculations? To me that time (outside of daily commute) is time spent away from home and unavailable to be used for other activities, so that is firm time.
Is this from my data?
I enjoy being in the 3% at Deloitte!!

Where’s OW
What I think gets lost in charts like this are how these hours change my function or group. For instance, I’m on the strat side and I have always been in 60-69 hour range for the last two years. I’m assuming there’s a variation across strat and non strat across other firms as well - would be interesting to see how that compares strat vs strat at other firms and non strat vs non strat. Otherwise you’re just comparing strat hours (MBB/S&) vs firms that have more of a blend

How come I hear so many people say they do 80+ but only a very small % seem to do that.
