Scenario: auditor in Big 4 for 4.5 years. Private for another 3-5 years. Is it possible to return to audit?

You can literally always go back to being an auditor. The only question is why anyone would want to....

like

Yes. Last FY, over 15% of our hires were boomerangs

like

Yes. I did this exactly. Made manager in private and came back to audit as a manager. Just got promoted to senior manager.

D2, how many years of public did you have the first time you left?

Yes. Big 4 would probably take you. Or you could come work at a fun place to work.

What route would you guys take in my position?

Goal: Data Science/ML

1. UGA MSBA (likely free)
2. OMSCS/OMSA (possibly work FT aswell)
3. Work FT and find out what I really want to do

Context: Going into final year of MIS degree with CS minor at UGA. Really enjoying classes on hard skills, haven’t taken all the business side classes but so far not as interesting. Interning at KPMG for data analytics rn, haven’t gotten much useful experience. Family may have financial hardship soon.

I’ve got about 20 years cross channel experience in marketing, split between big brands and startups, and I’m considering pivoting into a data science/data analyst role. I know it will initially be a step back in comp but is it at all realistic for a person with certificate level experience in data analysis but a decent marketing management background to expect $150-200k comp or is that mostly for degreed candidates (or not realistic at all)? Any guidance here is greatly appreciated.

Is it generally unwise to switch companies within a year? I just relocated back to hometown and started a new job 6 months ago but I want to relocate again to Atlanta when my lease is up in 6 months. Any advice welcomed.

I’m looking to hear about anyones experience with RA, thinking of pivoting to RA from PM. What is a typical day like for remote RA roles?

I’m taking the SPHR in less than 2 months and haven’t started studying for it. How difficult is it? I’ve been in HR for 20 years and have experienced ALOT in that time, although there are always employee relations scenarios that surprise me! How much do I really need to study for this? I just can’t seem to motivate myself to do it, I’m so mentally burnt out at the end of the day from a high stress HR job, the last thing I feel like doing is studying HR!

Hi folks. I’m a data scientist at a T2/B4 firm that does fairly technical work. I am prepping for interviews to transition to SWE-data at a big tech company and currently have a little over 1 yoe.

Since prep usually takes a while for swe, I have not started seriously applying. However, I am likely to receive an offer for 110-120k at another consulting firm. I was hoping to get some thoughts from other technical folks that made the transition. More in comments

Hi all,
I'm graduating this fall with a B.A. in political science. I take the LSAT Nov. 12th and have a mentor helping me to apply to law school for the Fall 2022 cycle. If it matters my GPA is a 3.5 (possibly 3.6). I'm quickly realizing that I need a job in the meantime (starting January). I'm based in Boston and New York but if the position is lucrative enough I'm willing to relocate. Any high paying but temporary roles that anyone would reccomend?
