Venting here but wtf is the point of more PTO in public accounting if your own superiors say you won’t be able to take it since there’s “too much to do”. Things are pretty dang quiet during Thanksgiving and Christmas weeks... our line of work is so infuriating at times

Is it okay I log off when I was told to? Just started I January and it’s my first busy season. By hearing and saw all the stories that people are working super long hours made me quite worried as I was told I could leave at 6 pretty much everyday. I did finish what was assigned to me but seeing all the AM and managers staying online till super late made me stressed. Should I ask more to do or is it normal for a first year audit?
