Which one teaches you the most/preps/gives you the qualifications you need the most for getting into big tech companies? I’m mainly wondering about the reputation of each certifications and how they compare to each other.

Can’t decide on a job offer. Currently employed and have been wanting to do something different. The other job offer is pretty much what I make now but I’d be losing on a lot of PTO. I kind of feel really confused about what to do. The hiring manager actually picked up on the fact that I don’t sound super excited for the job. But I feel like this is my chance to leave and do something different but I’m hung up on barely any PTO and swapping to a complete different industry.

I’m trying to break into the Tech industry, but having no success. Recently, I found out an acquaintance works at a great company and they have an open position on their team. But, the role is two levels down of where I am today. And comp would be lower. Should I still apply? I feel like this is my best chance of getting into a Tech company.

Hi Everyone, Started my career in government 5 years ago working in an operational role, then focussed on HR for 3 years working my way up to a middle manager role in HR as a business partner and completed my Level 7 CIPD. I’m currently a systems engineer (4-5 YOE in SE, 2 YOE in customer service before that) with BS in STEM, MS in Technical Mgmt. I’ve been dealing with burnout so I’m currently on the hunt for a new job but I’m thinking about making a pivot into something else - maybe a data science or data analytics role. A lot of my experience for the languages/tools that seem to be required for those roles comes from my undergrad courses and not my SE experience. Can I still put that on my resume?

Would you take a small pay cut like $10k to work on excited project or product with another company?

I got an offer from a competitor has really interesting project but the overall comp is less than $10k than my current role. The manager is nice but they can’t up the comp much further.
