Bali. Phenomenal experience. I been dying to do a liveaboard at raja ampat as soon as covid is clear :(

LOL I’m not against it! Fellow Scuba divers are the coolest fish 🐠 on this bowl

If I can’t scuba, what’s all this even about?

Belize was great!

Relatively cheap, boat dives were fairly close, lots of fishes.

like

Cozumel, Thailand

like

Fiji 🐠. Incredible corals and biodiversity -great white wall, etc

like

Belize. Turks. Cayman. All very good. In that order.

like

Cozumel - cheap and easy to get to
I personally think Thailand is a bit overreacted because of the pollution. You need to take a very long boat ride to get to somewhere with good visibility. I like the Caribbean area - Belize, Bonaire, St. Croix and etc. Less crowded, more reliable dive operations and safer.

like

Cape cod, Florida, any lake any where!

Yes, I have experiences with scuba...

Liveaboard on Coral Sea (Australia Queensland coast of Great Barrier Reef) was epic and ruined me for everything else. Sad to think all my jetting around from dive spot to dive spot helped kill all the coral ☹️ it will never be the same. Great experiences also on the Whitsunday Islands.

Belize, great barrier reef, Sydney, liveaboard in similan Islands Thailand

Great Barrier Reef, Maldives, Mexico - in that order

Phenomenal experience, highly recommend getting certified. Did mine in the Great Barrier Reef only took 3 days (1 in class, 2 days diving)

Red Sea and Maldives. Red sea has a great combination of shipwreck, coral caverna and sharks. None of the countries around it are doing great with Covid at the moment, so maybe for a later stage. Maldives has larger sea life (whale sharks, mantas, also a lot of sharks) and with a live aboard you’ll also get a lot of variety. It all depends on your level and what you enjoy most in your dives. Well, and travel time depends on where you are based. I’m in the ME, so these are convenient for me

I want to get my PhD, but all of the programs I want require a full time commitment for the first year. What are my options? Is a sabbatical an option? Or would I have to straight up resign? Utilization notwithstanding (I’m a GPS consultant)…is it possible to go part time? I completed my master’s full time while a full time Deloitte consultant. I know school can be done, but for PhDs they usually want you to also work as a TA. Additionally, I am not interested in online programs.

Hot take, for those who received a stimulus based on FY19 or FY18 returns why doesn’t the government make people pay it back in the FY20 return if they don’t qualify based on the actual tax year stimulus was for? I understand why they couldn’t wait but IrS knows who received it so it isn’t hard to implement. Could have used the anticipated saving coming back to fund more stimulus for those who truly needed it.
