I’m a CPA in the US with public (big 4 financial services) and industry experience (tech). I’m looking to re-locate to the UK. I’m struggling getting any traction with recruiters or job interviews. I’ve applied at all the big 4 (EY, PwC, KPMG, Deloitte) and many other companies. I’ve also connected with dozens of people on LinkedIn and still have been unsuccessful. Any help or tips would be appreciated.

Yes - ask. I’ve seen companies pay this to onboard someone sooner. It all depends on how much they want you.
Yes ask! The same thing happened to me. You can easily explain the timing and how you will miss out on your bonus. The worst that can happen is they say no. Also, how do you make $150 as a manager? Which group? I’m less than this ☹️
Oh really! Interesting I didn’t know. Also, good luck with your decision!
Yes absolutely ask for a signing bonus. Most companies offer this for experienced hires. I promise they did not lead with their best offer.
Dude 150 as a manager?!!?? Audit 2nd year mgrs are at like 105
Tax, specialty group, bar admission
It wouldn’t hurt to ask, or to just to see if you can negotiate a better deal. 9/30 is also 4 months away, so I think it also depends on how much you’d like to stay at your current firm or if you have been really looking to make the jump.
I can stay. I wasn’t looking actively when I got this call from an internal recruiter. It’s important to me to be fully remote because I have kids. The issue is that the industry job needs a person sooner than 9/30. They aren’t just going to wait for me until September
How do you already know your bonus?
It’s a best guess based on previous years, talking to other managers and my expectations. It could be off by 1-2% in either direction. I will find out around June 23 how much it is exactly but I have made my own estimate. They decide these things in May but it takes them a month to communicate it. And another 3 to actually pay off the bonus. Completely inefficient. But money in the pocket now is always better than money in the pocket months later ;)
