lol I’ve said this before many times. Actually I think I suck at times. But in the land of the blind, the man with one eye is king. You still know more about financial matters better than your clients do
Which part of the job are you bad at?
How long in the biz?
Are you trying to improve or just staying where you are? You should always be seeking to learn more and be more efficient and most importantly consistently upgrade your value proposition. Your value is why new clients will come to you. If your not doing that then you are right, your clients will find better value elsewhere.
I think we as humans are hard on ourselves. I tell myself that I’m an idiot all the time and do a little putting myself down. I know deep down I’m not. I’m actually very smart. I’m inexperienced and have a lot to learn about the business. I’m only a year in so I know there is a lot to learn but like FP1 said, we know more than our clients and at the end of the day we are [hopefully] putting them in a better spot than when they came to us!
I’m pretty sure the most successful advisors don’t sit around studying Sharpe ratios. They build relationships and let the really smart people do the heavy lifting. My clients trust me as well they should and I trust Edward Jones.
