I have a direct report (~10 years of experience in mostly related jobs, 3 years with current firm) who sends me consistently poor grade work, and last night sent me a not-great deck at 2.15am (no one else on our team works that late, and there is no expectation that this person should), to meet a “Tuesday EOD” deadline. We need to up level the deck today- do I just redo their deck, or do I ask them to take another pass? They never asked me for help or input since this got assigned, either.

I am a UX designer and have spoken with a potential client who intially wanted to redesign the navigation and landing page of their site. They showed me analytics saying only .35% of users open the main menu (most access different pages through Google search and then leave the site) so it's not worth the time to redesign. I see a lot of growth potential here, but they don't see the value in good nav if users don't already use it. How do I show them the value of good nav? Should I just let it go?
