Yes consulting to go first
No.
I’m a manager at Deloitte. Don’t have a lot of pull really but if they ask me I am going to tell them to drop the hammer and do 50% layoffs.
If I was being honest, I’d have to include myself in the layoff due to lack of productivity. I kinda suck
Only at EY.
Source: Trust me bro.
Get this fear mongering bullshit out of here.
This wasn’t fear mongering, bro. It’s a sincere question.
Tbh, there’s been a lot of buzz about this from staff level. Have not heard a single partner talk about it. Work on your utilization, networking and business development activities. The firm needs to keep people in their seats to keep the business going and anticipate work to come as well.

Made $190K this year as an SA, about to be at $240K TC now that I'm promoted.
Never really work more than 45 hours a week.
Not quite yet. I think consulting leaders are still traumatized from the whiplash of layoffs in early 2020 and then a 2 year hiring/attrition spree. Instead of layoffs, hiring will be curtailed. They will also be firmer on up/out and low performers, but not in big enough numbers to be truly considered shadow layoffs. That shadow layoff lever isn't really needed yet.
Our hiring targets are up for next year - and other than PEG we’re nearly sold out - so I think no
Consultants will fill in some of the positions.
Give it to the contractors!
There are 50% more consultants than needed that’s for sure
