Anyone here work with individual compliance? How do you stay in budget with a disorganized client who needs a lot of hand holding?
In my second busy season of PA (2 years ago), auditing a specialty finance company that we all quickly came to realize stunk to high hell. We ended up issuing an adverse opinion over a disagreement with the client to book an approx. 100MM write down adjustment to deferred revenue. We walked away with the thought that we had just scratched the surface of their corruption. Fast forward 2 years and low and behold they’re under a 1.2B dollar investigation by the SEC and their CEO is in prison.
I was contacted by a recruiter about a role at a large tech company (not FAANG) but the role is as a W2 contractor until their hiring freeze is lifted. If brought on, I would be included in headcount for next year and immediately hired full time once the freeze is up assuming I do well as a contractor. The base comp for the full time is ~75% more than my current base and the role interests me. Basically, I want to sanity check this, am I ignoring red flags in considering this?

Deloitte told me that I need to be on a one year project when they file for your green card. A lot of consulting projects are not even a year. How do you guys achieve this? #worksponsorship

Had a few pairs of these waiting for me when I got back home from the holiday weekend. Not bad! Different materials, might even be more durable.
If you get an offer from another consulting firm and leverage it to get a raise at your current firm (thereby rejecting the other firms offer), will that forever ruin your chances of ever working for that other firm?
