Seeking advice about pivoting career to becoming a recruiter. Would love any advice on how to go about entering the field! Is there an advantage starting at an agency first versus starting out as an internal recruiter?
How do you save up money? I think I’m being frugal while everyone around me tells me I’m a spender. My bank account maintains no savings after my state income tax, mortgage, bills, and credit card pmt
Weather delayed flight then delayed twice because they couldn’t find crew... know weather is beyond their control but up to 6+ hour delay now due to crew issues added in, unreasonable to ask for pts?
Best single credit card strategy? Tired of juggling 2-3. Expenses this year will be lots of travel hopefully and new house expenses. Thoughts?
Anyone tried the Doona convertible car seat that is also a travel stroller? We have a bigger one but thinking this may be nice and then both me and my husband can have car seats in our cars

Delta flight attendants are evidently the happiest of the US airlines. They are doing something right.
Interesting findings from a doctor with the CDC showing that a stitched cotton mask only allows droplets to travel an average of 2 1/2 inches from a person's face, meaning they're more effective than we even thought. Without a mask, they travel 8 feet on average and possibly up to 12.
Hopefully people pay attention to this and apply good judgment so we can get this under control.

Planning to exit MBB for law school -> big law; trying to understand non-content culture differences / similarities. My read below:
- MBB operates 80/20 - we don’t need to be 100% accurate re: details if we have the right answer; not acceptable in law
- Hours are ~same (~65-80+ depending on current engagement, etc.)
- Travel + expense everything in MBB; none in big law
- Promotion easier in MBB (lockstep 2 year up or out) vs big law NEP’s, etc.
- Biglaw skews older + more men vs MBB
Canadians— I’m transferring my H1B visa now but personal emergency came up and I need to go abroad. I’m getting conflicting info on whether I can travel. Anyone know?

If I’m starting on a 100% travel engagement and my parents live an hour away from my home office & they’ve been begging me to move on back home, is it worth keeping an empty in my home city?
What's the best value for money 4k/1080p drone to buy for travel? I generally try to get a balance on price to value curve and not blindly get the latest greatest in technology if expensive.

I’ve decided to make my career in the government side of consulting. Been doing it 10 years. Seems hard to find jobs where I manage people unless at a big 4. Anyone else find this true?

Am I able to access MyLearning before starting with Accenture? I received a Countdown to Accenture email and it included a piece about starting trainings before your first day, but both the link to MyLearning and the link to support for the link not working were unaccessible.

Looking for a (Midwest) spring/fall coat that looks professional. I typically wear a fleece in my personal life but want something nicer to wear to the office. I have a nice wool coat for winter but not for this in-between weather… Do people still wear trenchcoats? Help 🥴
How do you talk about money with your partner? He makes 40% more than me but we split everything 50/50. I feel I should be paying less but I’m also an independent woman and I don’t want to be seen as if I’m trying to live at his expense. Help!

I am a heavy equipment operator who is looking to get out of the operating side. Weather that’s something else in the construction field or learning something completely different I’m open to a complete career change. I really enjoy working with people, driving and positions with quite a bit of responsibility. If anyone knows of any decent entry level positions or hot to get my foot in the door please let me know.
I have an offer for a company abroad. Originally they wanted me to fly out and start the day after Thanksgiving (not celebrated in their country), but because of the holidays I suggested starting in either December or January with the ability to take some holiday days in December to fly back home for Christmas. They then proposed starting out remotely “as soon as possible” in the US as a contractor and then moving abroad to start full time abroad. (Cont)
Anyone have any experience with headhunters? I’ve had a couple reach out and I have a phone call scheduled with one tomorrow. Is there a difference between headhunters and recruiters? What should I expect?
Hoping this is the right board… Received an offer from Raytheon Technologies. Can anyone share are insights about this company? Particularly curious about vacation (is it negotiable?), 401k match, parental benefits (specifically adoption), typical merit, and overall career progression.
I decided to leave my current job because of management and toxic workplace culture. I landed another job where I accepted an offer that would be a $2 decrease in pay (which doesn’t bother me as much). Once I accepted the offer, the HR department started ghosting me like they don’t want to proceed with my employment. It’s been endless phone tag calls between us and I view that as unprofessional. My last day at my current job is Thursday and the new job isn’t as secure. What should I do?
Advice on getting on board with Amazon? I’ve got retail/commission sales and 5 years of district sales manager leadership experience, I want to get in to a supervisory role but don’t know what to look for that lines up.
Any advice for me? Looking to transfer out of advertising to pursue my dream as a therapist. I have my BS in Psych and am enrolled in an MS program. I’ll probs need a doctoral degree too. Anyone else make this switch?
I'm looking to get my foot in the door in as a power automation analyst or developer. Would love to connect and learn how to get into the field. Part of me feel like it is the time to take that risk and go for it since I'm part of a layoff going around.
Currently work in cancer research (not a doctor or nurse) thinking about making a change. I am considering getting a masters in supply chain management or data analytics. My other thought was to become a real estate agent. I am an introvert and a homebody. I love working remotely. I do enjoy knowing what I will do day to day but having it not be the same general thing day in and day out. In most of my positions, it can get repetitive. I am unsure what to do and am looking for opinions.
So I say this with complete humility and an understanding that this is a fortunate-ish situation to be in. I’m in a position where I am tied to nothing, I have no children, spouse, or house. My job, which I’ve loved until some recent significant leadership changes, is sucking the life out of me and I think it may be time for a change. Because I am able to “pick up and go” I’m open to opportunities and locations. I’ve never worked with a recruiter but was hoping I could get some recommendations!
Customer Success Managers!: I’m a well-educated service industry professional (BA and MA) trying to transition to CS. I’m having a hard time gaining traction and want to know if you have advice for landing entry level CS jobs. (Not resume advice, I’ve done my research.) I want to know more about getting my foot in the door and getting the necessary experience. Seems like most places want years of experience in the role and it’s hard to find places that will take someone hopping across industries
Is it normal for people to pivot into banking after 1-2y at B4 consulting? Looking to make a switch and wondering if MBA is necessary
Longtime listener, first time caller: I started a new position in June. A friend of mine (American) has been living in France for the last 10 years. She recently completed a salesforce certification and is fluent in French. Unfortunately she’s going through a bad breakup and is thinking of moving home. What are some jobs or industries that she should consider? Any good companies out there where she would fit nicely? Thanks!
Has anyone successfully job shadowed someone virtually? Either inside or outside their own company. Would love any tips!
