Yes definitely you can go into management side. And do not worry. Nobody is born manager. Just be open to learning and keep improving. Management is an art, but definitely easier yo manage grown up adults than a kid. You will do it, just believe in yourself. There are thousands doing it already.

its simple to be a manager.. just say no to personal stuff like leaves , hikes , promotion... say yes to working on weekends, more work etc #Kidding
Don't know about skills but being soft spoken and not being very talkative is good for being manager.
I am also a programmer with 8 years of experience. I am also thinking same like you. I also want to move myself as an architect managerial role after 2 years. Because don't want to code whole life and fixing the issues. So for this role which you are looking just expertise in Excel because from technical side you already have experience. And second definitely team management part most important to complete deadline with team. So you have to that ability to took work from team with soft skills. Else everything manage day by day.
I would suggest Scrum master or Devops kinda role. Good pay, less workload.
In recent Amazon & Meta layoffs, I didn't see a particular role(Scrum master/manager) getting laid off. Layoffs means Layoffs for everyone. It depends on company's revenue.
If you are more interested on product side then go for product owner certification, you will not do programming but you own the product and have good understanding of big picture of the product and discuss requirements with business team.
If you are interested in handling end to end project then go for project management certification like scrum master certification, pmp, prince2 etc.
Both are good in terms of career path. If you want to discuss more, you can dm me.
