I need some job hunting/interview advice. I have 14 years of writing experience, 12 years of marketing and 7 years of organic and paid SMM experience. Has anyone pivoted from teaching? My wife is thinking about a career shift to something with more money. She has 6 YOE between schools in the US and UK. She also has a masters in educational psychology. The typical advice she’s been getting is tutoring and mentoring, however this defeats the purpose of leaving education. As I’m wrapping up the year with my team I want to do some reflection as a leader. What are some of the most challenging aspects of your role? How do you go about setting boundaries with your employer to maintain a healthy work & life balance?

I want to provide my employees with examples or ideas that are beyond my own experiences. I want to show others have done this with success as well.

Couples (especially married people): how do you balance sharing holidays across various family units? I’m finding it hard to balance my husband’s mom (divorced, single), his dad (remarried with teenage kids), and my parents (married), plus of course all the additional family that comes along with each unit. How best to make it fair, year after year?

I feel for those who live by themselves and are lonely. But damn, I’m getting sick of being around my husband 24/7. This is not natural 😅

Anyone else dealing with an overly aggressive HOA? I cut my lawn with a new mower and the head of the HOA knocked on my door and told me she “had measured the length of my grass and that it was still too high and that I needed to knock a half inch to comply with HOA rules.” I re-read our agreement and there’s nothing about the lawn. Wtf?
