Does anyone have any insights about Anderson tax ? What will be a reason for me not to go from big 4 to Anderson if I’m getting 25% increase in pay ?
B4 advisory to M7? Is this possible/common?
Serious question: how difficult is it to get straight up fired from big 4? Outside the layoffs last year, I have personally never seen anyone let go for any reason. There's always some PIP or transferring projects or some long review process that never goes anywhere. Anyone have any insight or stories? Just looking for some perspective.
Brand new Deloitte USDC looking to shift to other Big 4. Want to experience core consulting culture and not DC’s. Any advise? Does it look bad on the resume?
Is it standard for companies to let you know where you fall amongst your peers during annual reviews or is that just a big 4 thing? I feel like it’d be more motivating to talk about personal progression and improvement areas than to define your performance against everyone else’s. I know you will always be judged against peers, but HR doesn’t need to disclose that
Hi Tax Bowlers, I'm an experienced associate (2yrs) in a Big 4 Transfer Pricing division. I have reached a point in my career where I am considering taking up a professional certification. Several colleagues recommended taking up either ACCA or CFA, however, I see little connection between these certifications and the work that I am currently doing, and what I plan to do in the future. What would you guys suggest? Would it be detrimental to my career if I did not take up any certifications?
Why are the Big 4 considered to be the best places to work and best consulting firms? Other than prestige and brand I don’t understand why they’re consistently rated and regarded so highly
B4 technology peeps: have you seen travel be more optional or regional now than in past? I want <25% travel but don't want to move to federal. Former Deloitte Digital SC with 10 yrs of Salesforce exp

Do companies weigh certs more than hands-on experience? (ie: open source contributions, projects, etc) Asking b/c I'm joining big 4 in cyber and wanted to know whether I should prioritize certs over developing my skillet through projects? Thanks
Outside of the Big 4 and other federally-focused consulting shops, what private companies in the DC area need/want cleared people?
I am having 7 yrs of experience.- B.tech work profile- Dot net full stack(angular) & Azure PaaS, Current is 17.5 LPA What salary I can expect (min max, avg) in big 4. Also EY vs Deloitte, which pay more for senior consultant. Thanks !
IOs in b4 consulting - what was most important in terms of what to know as you landed projects?
Anyone go from a big 4 to a boutique? Pros/cons?
I was thinking of pivoting to an ESG related position. Does anyone here have experience working within this service line and/or have any advice/suggestions (I.e obtaining certain certs , etc.)? Not much info about ESG experiences within the big 4 online but it does seem interesting given the ambiguity around it. Thanks!
Thinking of taking a SM role in consulting. Role is in the NY area for big 4. What is the base salary and bonus range I should be looking for?
I have a 30 min video interview with director in EY. What can I expect from this interview?
Have any of you approached your employer for reimbursement for being asked to use your phone at work? Specifically things like texting your boss while they are in court? I started a new job and am trying to set boundaries but this is one that I cannot set as it is standard practice. In our state, an employer must reimburse you if they direct you to use your personal phone for work. It seems petty, but I’m trying to (rightfully) cash in on something that I would rather not have to do.
I am an analyst. To be honest, I feel like I am sinking, and everyone knows it. I was not an Econ major in college (poly Sci) , and I am new to excel. However, I feel like I am constantly thrown into the deep end, and no one wants to help me, answer my questions, or help guide me through asks. I was under the impression that this would be a teaching environment. Worst feeling when you feel stupid, and you know that everyone else thinks you are stupid too. Will prob b fired.
Hi, are there any vacancies for HR project management or HRBP roles with almost 2 YOE. Have done MBA and worked in global projects in an IT company.
Amex corporate green card or CSR? I’m not seeing many benefits to the Amex and I’m wondering whether I should just stop paying the annual fee and apply for CSR instead and get reimbursed for business expenses from that card. Considering I can only put business reimbursable expenses on the Amex, it’s not accumulating points very fast. Would I be better off consolidating my points on CSR? Amex platinum doesn’t seem like the right move for me right now.
Looking to vacation next summer in Greece and Italy with the fam. When you all book on bonvoy points do you reserve the room just for yourself or do put the actual number of people? When I search for just 2 people staying the room, there is availability to use bonvoy points. When I search for 3 people(6y/o kid) nothing is available. The same in Athens, Rome & Naples.
Im pretty sure I can pay for my $9k financed car fully from a ~$5.3k (200 shares) position in PLTR from selling calls. You think I could keep this going for the full 5 year loan term or will a drop in volatility doom me? Does anyone else here do this sort of thing? Funding a specific expense with a specific recurring trade?
Can we pay our phone bills on personal card and still expense the $60? Or do we have to pay phone bill from EY AMEX card?
I've recently moved to the US from India but now that everything is WFH I'm having a hard time making friends or connections with coworkers. I'm not sure what to do as I'm very lonely.
I’m pregnant and have been at my job for a few months to qualify for the state family leave which is only 4 weeks. I’m wondering what others have done to prolong their maternity leave when starting a new job.
Thoughts on being asked to do a test project post interview? Sr AD with a portfolio to back it up. Responded saying I could do it at my freelance rate, they replied back saying since it's not a "real project" they wouldn't pay for it.
Are month ends in industry just as bad as busy season? I had an interview this week and they talked about working 60s at month end. Not sure if that’s a red flag.
New hire starting nov 29! Have a couple of questions: I need to travel for DStart and it starts at 11am on a Monday, could i drive or train in on Sunday night and book a hotel through Deloitte for two nights instead of one? And if I drive in how does Deloitte pay for mileage and do they pay for city parking? And how does expensing meals work? For example, the orientation ends on 5:30pm on Monday and 4pm on Tuesday can we expense dinners after orientation? Sorry for all the questions!
Anyone have ideas on throwing a surprise birthday party in quarantine? It’s for my teenage brother so I don’t think he cares about Zoom calls, and I can’t invite his friends over either...
How much do senior managers make at EY in ATL? I’m trying to see if I pursue an offer or stick it out in the hopes they’ll pay up come promo time. Non tech.
1 year out of school w/ 6 months of experience doing contract work as an ERP consultant , currently working with a strategy firm (6 months ) ... liked the technical stuff way more . But both are startups and feeling discouraged because I can’t seem to land an interview anywhere in the industry for any type of entry level consulting roles . Got an offer from big firm but blew it because clearance process took too long . Should I give up and switch industries ? No idea what to do ...
I’m a 1st year, signed to go to a PE fund after finishing my 2nd year. Considering doing VC for the next year instead, so resume would look 1yr MBB, 1yr VC, 2yrs PE then bschool. Too much job hopping?
