He paid $44bn to become the supermod of Twitter which sounds fun until you realize it means basically just getting yelled at by everyone
When I was Gibson, senior associates and partners always drilled into me that we do the best quality work (we would never sacrifice quality for anything else). I went elsewhere and realized all V20ish firms provide basically the same quality of service…..

Cravath. Culture is strong. Quality is high, customer service is top notch. Sucks to be an asso iate there, but great to be a client.

Gibson for first lien lender representation in bankruptcy/restructuring; Akin for creditors besides first-lien lenders in bankruptcy/restructuring; K&E for company side representation in bankruptcy/restructuring.

Honestly, I like Weil fine enough, but nobody beats Kirkland and Ellis for keeping shit moving, through hell or high water, no matter how many fourth-year associates they have to throw at the matter. Weird to say, but I feel like Weil actually does too good of a job while K&E gets the balance between getting shit right and getting it done.

Skadden for tax. Deep technical expertise and incredibly reasonable to work across from.

In my experience - public M&A: Wachtell, Gibson, Davis Polk. Ropes for PEMA.
K&E and STB have been consistently bad to work across from IMO. K&E has their deals run by junior associates and it shows.
WLRK, Cravath, SullCrom, DPW, STB - high consistent quality
